Seems like a nice continuation of the Aldori Swordlord archetype, which generally is a more dexterous and defensive duelist sort of fighter. It does indeed refer to performance combat from Ultimate Combat, but that is only one feature of the class, which would probably come into play under very particular circumstances (have not really looked into performance combat either).
Nah, the Duelist PrC is what I am after, but it is a long way away. Besides, the Aldori Swordlord PrC does not quite mesh with Kieran's backstory anyway.
But, graceful fighters are my favorite kind, especially when they wield slightly curved swords it seems, which is why I got really interested in this new PrC. So perhaps my next character may very well be a Brevic noble-born Aldori swordlord in both Archetype and Prestige Class. :-)
I suspect Casimir in my Kingmaker game will want at least one level of it. He is focused towards Eldritch Knight but he wants the Aldori Duelling Mastery feat anyway so perhaps he'll just dip 1 level.
It is quite a powerful 1 level dip though I noticed.
Indeed it is for a dexterous fighter wielding an Aldori dueling sword, at least as long as he is willing to grab the necessary skill ranks and feats. Not only does he get the Aldori Dueling Mastery feat, but he also gains the ability to add his Dexterity bonus instead of his Strength bonus to damage with his Aldori dueling sword. Basically, he gets the Holy Grail of DEX-based melee fighters, albeit with a specific weapon.
Sorry guys. Your next up on my "long updates" list, I promise. Admin stuff for Rogue Trader stole my evening and updating Kingmaker took my night :). Hoping I won't need to do that again (the admin) and the GM will go with my suggestion to streamline it.
3AM here, but a big ol' update for this games top of my to do list tomorrow :).
Sorry guys. My daily schedule is something like this right now- up at 7:15, work + prep for work from then until 6, then Gym, Tennis or Swimming which usually along with dinner, takes the rest of the evening. By 10 or so i'm absolutely shattered.
After years of dithering, I have finally decided to try to run a play-by-post game. I'd be honored by your attention -- or just any kind words that won't make me want to run and hide. :)
Oh Joana... Tempt me not foul maiden! You know how busy I am...
Edit: As for kind words and advice... i'm on hand for the latter. For the former, you'll be fine, you've played under plenty of good DM's and seen which habits to avoid and which to pick up. Your trained in Maptools now too ;). You'll do well!
M Brownin (Half Pale Skin/Half Dark Skin) Healer 8/Merchant 3
Very interested in your game Joanna and have no doubts whatsoever that you'll do splendidly. Congrats! I too may Finally take the plunge someday ; )
And as to Castor & Kilcoyne's convo about Prestige Classes, 1 which PR are you talking about?? and 2, you may find this little weapon enchantment interesting. I know my rogue/shadowdancer sure did!
We are talking about the Aldori Swordlord PrC from the Paths of Prestige book. As for that particular weapon enchantment you mentioned, I most definitely have my eye on it! :-)
Looks amazing Joana. My plate is too too full or I would happily send you an app. Best of luck and who knows, if you should need a replacement player....
Looks like we're doomed never to know whether Shamaness Ntisi is lying to us or not. Then again, she serves a Lawful Good god so ought to be struck down by lightning if she tells a falsehood, right?
AK dropped a note into his Kingmaker game but didn't make it over here. He's been ill for a few days (today too perhaps, as I haven't seen him around?) and not up to posting. :(
I re-roll all sense motives off-screen as a rule anyway before I give you any result on them, because I feel they are a check better made in secret by GM.
Thanks for letting everyone know Joana, I figured you would.
Feeling a bit better (enough that I don't believe I will go to doctors) and its a long weekend. I plan on updating a lot of games today, the ones I DM getting top priority.

Just as well, seeing how much fail we had rolling, ourselves.
If you find yourself describing a potential PC as "buxom" or "curvy" or "sensuous," ask yourself if you have any male PCs whose genitalia you feel the need to qualify in the descriptive text; if not, you don't need to be specific about the female body either. It's squicky.
I've been thinking of drawing portraits of the group off and on since the game started, but, you know, it's actually really hard for me to draw portraits of Tebati, Jakob or, really, any of the rest of the group without a more detailed description of what they look like ("muscular" and "wiry" as well as "lithe" and "sensuous") and what they're wearing. (I'm half-tempted to have Tebati dressed in National Geographic-style African garb, i.e. a skirt and those glass beads around her neck, and that's it.) I guess I just need direction or I don't even know where to start. References help a lot, too. Most of my drawings would probably be even more askew without them....
Also, I had thought of coming up with a character concept for your game, Joana, but up until I was reading a thread on cleric-hate yesterday, I couldn't think of anything to play. (Now I think the next character I want to play is a cleric of Desna.)

The other part that makes it difficult to get a clear read on how characters look is that the profile pictures are often different to the player's mental picture.
If you wanted to draw a portrait then I'd certainly not say no :P - and could furnish you with a few more details and picture references.
I actually try not to create a mental image of a character until I've chosen an avatar. It bugs me to have a little picture next to everything my PC does or says that doesn't match the way I think about them, so I page through and pick an avatar quite early in the character creation process, then tailor my character to the picture. It's better than coming up with a fully fleshed-out character concept and then not being able to find an available avatar that fits. I'm actually stuck in that situation right now: I've pictured one of the NPCs from my game as a particular image from a piece of Paizo artwork -- and now it's not an available avatar! I could have sworn I'd seen it in the list before. :P
So when I picture Tebati, I picture her avatar. As far as clothing, I prefer being purposefully vague to doing the necessary research to be correct. ;) But if I had to get pinned down to something, I'd go with something loose and colorful like this, minus the headdress.

Yeah - I mix and match a little. Sometimes I find the avatar then tailor the description... but sometimes the character concept drives it.
In Qhude's case - there are zero available choices that come close to how he looks in my head. Of the few avatars available that are male and Mwangi and with dark skin - you get a choice of bald or dreadlocks (none with short hair). And even then the choices don't have the hardness that I picture on Qhude's face. The avatar I have comes close in that regard - with at least the facial scarring and a cruel / disdainful expression.
Yeah...this is the avatar I am least pleased with...nothing like N'bellocq, other than he looks like he might be on the quiet side. I see N'bellocq as more of a Caribbean appearance to him. Ocean culture mixed with pirate influences. Bright clothes and barefoot.
I make no guarantees about when any portraits get done. The last one I did took me 3 months (and I'd link it, but it's NSFW since the character is partially undressed). Then again, I don't usually take that long.
Really sorry for the inactivity guys. I can't guarantee there won't be more periods where i'll be struggling to post, but things will get better once i'm back at university in early October. This is not a slow down period before I collapse or burn out; I love this game and I can't wait for the bits past Freehold at the moment :).
This game takes me a lot longer to update than the AP's (although not really a lot longer than Kingmaker as i'm currently way beyond what book 2 actually covers) so I didn't get to it last night- making it my priority right now.
Male Human (Mwangi - Bas'o tribe) Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist archetype) 3
I'm fine and happy with a slow and steady pace for the most part - I think we've all proven that we're in for the long haul by the mere fact we're all still here ;)

Ansha - just had a moment in another PbP where a wizard was trying to be threatening with a readied fireball spell... was amusing to realise that he was essentially rolling bat poo between his fingers with an absolutely straight face.
Kieran, Jakob- still with us? My post rate is finally picking up somewhat, i'm starting to be occasionally waiting on you guys rather than vice-versa :)
HaHa. That is actually hard to write, when every instinct as a player knows something is up. He is wise, but not experienced. To him, why would anyone care where we are going? We can be easily followed, and the man needs a job....and he's a cook.
I guess it's a good thing N'bellocq doesn't follow the details too much.
I have a 2-week trip to Italy coming up Saturday. I should have ready access to wi-fi for an occasional peak (and hopefully post) at the boards, but I doubt it will be a priority, as I am tour directing for our group.
I'm now finally moving up to Southampton for university. Things will be hectic for me but will settle down on the 1st of October, at which time expect much more posting from me.
Really keen to get my own games going at a good rate again so I hope you'll all help me get the pace up and keep it at a healthy momentum. I'll PM you all on the 1st of October to remind you as the threads may not show updates by that point.

Qhude will be flying out of Malaysia and back into Australia on 28th September and will be visiting family for a couple of weeks through to the 15th of October. While I should still be able to check in periodically it will likely cause a few interruptions and my posts may involve a little more brevity than usual.
If needed at any point feel free to keep things moving with a DMPC :)
An update... posting this on my group's discussion threads due to lack of time, but I trust helpful people will share the info around as needed.
I am still hoping to get everything posting again on 1st of October. However, I will not have Internet in my home until the 11th of October. We shall have to see how successful my attempts to keep up are in this period.
