The Nameless GM |
The ladies that Salazar appeared in suddenly start screaming in embarrassment, smacking him repeatedly with their hands and chasing him around the arena calling him things like "Scoundrel! Pervert! Snakeskin!"
After they leave him alone, Salazar has taken 2d3 + 2 ⇒ (2, 2) + 2 = 6 of nonlethal damage. Mostly to the face.
When Moone starts playing louder, a small group of the musicians gather round to help add to the suspense.
Salazar The Shadow |
After the quick beating he recived by the random women he runs like hell! Trying to get away from them while screaming somewhat in his native tongue purely by accident as he is not thinking correctly right now. He basicly screams something to the effect of I didnt mean it or OW or Sorry but none of it can be heard correctly unless there is a translator.
Ybewyr |
One Final Effort: 1d20 + 10 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 10 + 8 = 21
"YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG GGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Ybewyr shouts.
The Nameless GM |
"One Final Effort" will be called a bullrush.
Salvator manages to keep it steady for a moment before the bell rings again.
Salvator's left foot is out of the ring. Ybewyr wins.
Salvator lets out a hearty laugh. "I can't believe it! I've been bested!" The Elf runs to the chalkboard and marks up a loss for Salvator.
The crowd goes nuts as Salvator raises Ybewyr's arm. "We have a winner!" The crowd is cheering "Bear! Bear! Bear! Bear!"
After all's said and done, Salvator meets with the group in his tent. It's fairly small, filled with trophies and medals for "Best Highwire, Best Orchestra," and so forth from Districts and Territories around the world.
"I applaud you for besting me. You are a welcome addition to the Court whenever you see fit. Now, on to business.
"The Court's Entertainment Guild is preparing to participate in the festivities of the Baron's son's birthday party at his mansion tonight. As we agreed, you may all attend as guests of the Court. Moone, you will be with the orchestra as part of the musical accompaniment. Bear, you and I will perform in a wrestling match as entertainment. Crystal, Taldra, you can be our ringside coaches. As part of the show, of course. Salazar, you can be our announcer, if you hold your forked tongue. After our match, you may do as you please in the mansion, but please don't make a scene. You are guests of the Court, and you must act as such.
"We make way in an hour. Be ready to depart by then. I must attend to the other members."
Salazar The Shadow |
I may be a snake...but I do not have a forked... He stops and sticks his tongue out and looks at it to see it is slightly forked. huh...whada ya know....I never noticed before. He can't help but do the snake tongue thing and he shakes his head and pulls his mask and hood back on over his head.
Summoner Moone |
Ian smiles at the exchange about Salazar's tongue. After that, he truns to Salvator and asks What will your orchestra be performing, when can I practice with them, and how long will I have? His mind is racing with tonight's possibilities and for the chance to perform for an audience that will live to tell of it. That leads him along a darker trail of thought as he awaits Salvador's reply.
The Nameless GM |
Salvator shakes his head to get the the idea of Salazar's forked tongue out of his mind.
"We have a few classical arrangements, but someone of you skill will have heard them all already. Like I said, you have one hour before we depart. I suggest you get to it if you want to practice with them."
Moone, you will be given control of the music that will be played at the party, but remember to keep it kinda happy. This is a party, after all.
I need perception checks from everyone in the tent. That's everyone.
The Nameless GM |
Salvator stands and starts to head out of his tent. "You'd best be getting to work getting ready. Our conductor is the Elf you saw on the highwire. His name is Herbert.
You can look over my trophies, but don't touch anything."
Salvator leaves the tent, then heads to the one of the large wagons to get equipment and tools loaded.
The Nameless GM |
The lock on the chest freezes over in a layer of ice, then shatters and falls to the ground. No one heard the sound, so you're safe to open the chest.
Inside the chest is a note, two potions marked "Before" and "After", a set of MW Thieves' Tools, a cloak, a key with a skull on the grip, and 10 crossbow bolts. The bolts are heavier than normal, but should fire from a crossbow.
My dearest companions,
I'm so thankful you found my little package. You'll find everything you'll need to make the perfect crime. I've had my people listen to what you plan to do, so I've made arrangements to get you the following items.
All of this is for the attacker, so make sure he gets them. The cloak will help him be unseen, the potions are to help him find his mark and escape, the bolts will be his weapon of choice, and the tools and key are to help him should he need to get into a locked room. Just in case.
For our assassin, there is a currently empty building just north of the mansion. The target's room rests in clear view from the top floor. Sadly, a key could not be produced, so if you encounter any locked doors, the key should help you get in. If not, well, no one said it would be easy.
The rest of you, do as you were told. I'll be keeping a look out should something go awry.
Good luck,
The Raven of Blackmoor
You've got a little more time before you have to leave. If you need to do anything to prepare, now's the time. The next setting and roleplaying will be on Roll20.
Summoner Moone |
Once the others share this information, and no longer need a door guard, Now that that is taken care of, I believe I'll go practice with the orchestra, unless there will be any...'special requests' (he seems to be hinting at possible actions on his part required for the plan, outside of the orchestra) tonight?
Salazar The Shadow |
He walks over to crystal without a word as he claims the cloak and tosses it over himself and found it matched his hood and mask rather well. Then he takes the bolts and observes there features for moment before putting them into his quiver. Then he takes the potions out of Taldra's hands, not forcefully but still, he needed em. Ssssorry, no fun ssstuff for you ladiesss and gentsss. He reaches over and takes the key and puts it away before muttering something in snake then looks at everyone still present in the room. Thiss ssseeemssss...a little too convenient to me...keep..your...guard...up...and tell our hosssst that I had..a presssing matter to attend too. A man about a dog, a former flame, I care not just make it known I will be his...announccer.... He grabs the thieves tools though he does not exactly know how they work. Unlessss I musst then I will take my leave now.
Taldra Torviir |
Before the fight between Ybewyr and Salvator,Taldra walk among the audience. She talks up how strong and mighty the ManBear really is and how he's going to beat Salvator.

Ian begins to warm-up with the orchestra,
Perform(Warm-up): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
mainly scales and tuning, nothing impressive.
Oh, but then Ian motions to the conductor, and they begin to play
This.
Perform: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25
The Orchestra bursts into a merry tune, following the lead of the Summoner.
The Nameless GM |
The party is merry and charmed, no one even guessing that there will be a murder tonight.
Of the men that Taldra and Crystal talk to, four of them agree to bet on Ybewyr, while the other three bet on Salvator, claiming he's better than some Wildman.
The orchestra is in full swing, keeping the times going through the feast and through the dancing. The entire time, the Baron and his son watch the festivities, enjoying how they can afford the greatest of luxuries.
Of the men that Taldra speaks to, the son is one of them.
Salazar, I need to know where you are when the party begins. They have plans for if you won't be there to announce for the match.
Salazar The Shadow |
Salazar takes the center of the ring. He keeps his hood and mask up and turns so he is not facing any of the lords. He pulls his mask off and his hood in that order to revile he is the exotic creature that he is. Something comes over him that he cannot explain as he turns to the lords and bows. Good evening Gentlemen. He stands back upright and looks to his left and right to see the two fighters ready. My lords tonight we are all..Equal first met this man in The Wilds. More importantly the woods of the wilds. There, standing before me! Was a man of enormous strength defending a seemingly innocent little girl from the ravishing of 7..NEY 10 ORCS with just one hand. After shoving the final orcs head into the the neck of another that was decapitated he found that all of his money was stolen and the girl was gone. his big heart is only matched by his big muscles! HERE HE IS! THE CUDDLIEST WILD MAN EVER TO SLAUGHTER MULTITUDES OF CREATURES! BBBEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He pauses for a moment for the crowds reaction then moves more to Salvator's side. I know not this man nor do I wish to get into a fair fight with him. Ney I would not even have an unfair fight with him. Before you stands a more civilized beast who can appreciate the simple pleasures of drinking twice his weight in Red Water and the touch of several woman at once! You know him. most of you love him, though hopefully just brotherly love...that would be weird if not. HERE HE IS! THE HERO OF GOLDEN RULE AND CHAMPION OF THE RING! THE ONE! THE ONLY! SALVATOR!!!!!! as he says that he quickly bows and then darts off stage, exiting stage left of course, and puts his mask and hood back on.
Crystal Lehar |
After the announcement Crystal circles the ring holding the sigh before walking out to try and win more bets for Bear. She then moves her body winking at a few of the men as she sways her hips doing a small sensual dance before continuing on through the crowd.
