I'm putting this here because I have to say it somewhere, and I'm hoping someone here will understand why this is big for me. I recently started ADHD meds (been on them for a few weeks).
And I realized that not only have I actually done a couple of (for me) big cleaning pushes showing really progress, and one of them I've kept for over a week now, but yesterday I cooked and ate like a normal person. I made myself bacon cheese burgers with tater tots. I made the burgers from scratch and fried up the bacon myself. and the Tots were from frozen but... normally when I make bacon, as soon as I finish I go sit down and mindlessly eat it all.
Yesterday, I put one piece each, broken in two on my burgers for lunch and dinner yesterday. I had a few pieces with breakfast this morning, and I still have some left over.
I ate like a normal person.
I don't know if anyone else can understand how big this is for me, but it is, I feel like I'm starting to function, like I can actually make my life better.

Great job, Zoken!
I have a big history of ADHD in my family, so I've seen first-hand how difficult it can sometimes be to manage impulse control and follow through with multi-step tasks. Not making any assumptions about you, but it sounds like you deserve to celebrate this victory!
Just remember, if you slide back a bit as you get used to new medication, don't beat yourself up over it. Most people will slide back as they adjust to a new baseline. If you slip up, acknowledge it, forgive yourself, and try again. Keep trying, and the victories will keep coming!
