Interest check for a rather strange mythic game?

Recruitment

So this is the first time I am using this site but not my first time DMing. So anyway the premise for this game is very weird but simple. You have been killed and offered another chance at life, this time with cheats. You start as a level 1 character but with a full 10 mythic ranks and some other bonuses. Like maybe a template or stat boosts.

The idea is you decide what your full build will look like and select the mythic abilities accordingly but it’s just you will start at level 1. You don’t have to fill in the specifics like what exact mythic spells you want but at least pick the general abilities.

Would anyone be interested?

Sounds interesting. Is this supposed to be combat heavy or rp heavy?

That would have to depend on what the other players want. I am ok with running either. I really like creating monsters and npcs with quirks so I can run either.

I was hoping the players could come to a consensus on their own moral compass, general goals and stuff. I don’t really want to force all players to be heroes or all to be monsters so at this stage, the campaign could go in any direction.

This could be fun, Elioa - though some of the mythic powers/abilities do have some requirements that can't be achieved at level 1 (for example, for certain mythic feats you have to have the regular feats, and many of them are locked within chains etc.), which is what I believe you meant by "not choose all spells etc.". It may be easier to make the players start with a lower mythic tier and accelerate the growth...? Still sounds like a fun game.

That’s actually my intent. Players form an outline of what mythic powers they want. They can select mythic abilities they don’t yet qualify for(like mythic feats) if they plan to select it in the future.

The idea behind this is you have cheats that not only make your starting easier but also complements the build you will eventually spec into. There’s little point in a lower tier mythic game for me personally since I have run and played games where you level from 1-20/MR1-10. I want to try something different

I get it. It looks fun - it's also fun to be able to actually use the high mythic tier stuff for a longer period. In games like Wrath of the Righteous you end up limited to do it only at the high end.

I remember I was talking to someone about another crazy angle - to do Wrath of the Righteous without mythic tiers, but either with all gestalt (and using one side of the gestalt with the godling classes) or using free templates / racial builder / etc., or all monstrous...

In any case, these crazy games, especially if planning to long run, are always attractive :)

Whoa! I'd love to hear the in-game reasoning for these heroes! Interested!

With talk of a 'cheat' system, this campaign would be great as an isekai. I'm currently in two isekai campaigns on the forums, and the meta humor and real-world references are fast and many!

You'll get plenty of interest here I think. It could be interesting but will force some thought on what people want to play.

Interested.

Question regarding how the PCs died:

Were the PCs all killed by the same time when they were together?

If yes, were they already an group of adventurers or could they have been strangers/acquaintances/friends to some of the others, with the reason they all died also being the cause of a lot of people dying at the same time? (i.e. a city magically exploded, killing everyone within the city.)

Other questions:

Would the gameplay be on the Paizo boards or somewhere else (such as Discord)?

How frequent would you expect players to post? Every weekday and once during weekends or a posting pace that is closer to 'a couple/few times a week'?

I DO so LOVE the Godling classes!

That sounds bizarrely fun.

Agreed. I’ve never even considered this idea. I’m curious to see how it would work.

I'm reminded of the Iblydan Hero-Gods whose ranks include a mythic dire lion that regularly chases and or eats its worshippers (but who do gain spells from it, I think?) and doesn't realize it's sort of a demi-god, and an intelligent falcata that is also mythic and grant spells to worshippers, apparently.

Alright so it looks like there is some decent interest, I will iron out the details and make an actual recruitment thread that answers your questions soon

It will be play by post, since that seems like something else I want to try, and as for posting rates… I think i will discuss more about it in the actual thread

This does indeed sound heckin awesome, and something akin to an idea I had:

Try to run/play in an AP(or more than one, depending) as first level heroes, who never level up, but have similar cheats/powers to help make up for never going above level one...
