Check -- Advanced d20 Magic (PF1e)

Recruitment

I'd like to run a short campaign where we will use the Dynamic Spellcasting system in place of the Vancian casting system. I.e. the magic system from Advanced d20 Magic. Actually, the book is super-rare (costs $100 on Amazon) and I'd like permission for an exception (from Lisa or whome ever) to provide all who wants to play with the link to download a copy. This campaign is to test the system out of the book. I always wanted to run a game using Advanced d20 Magic, and I feel this is the time.

Certain aspects:
-- To keep conversions easy, you will be restricted to the classes in the Pathfinder Core Rules. The Core Rules spellcasting classes have already been converted. (Bard, Cleric, Sorcerer, Wizard, Paladin, Ranger, Druid).

-- The game will take place in Golarion. Most probably Cheliax, since that nation is more fun to set a game in. We aren't going to run Hell's Rebels or Hell's Vengeance. So you will need a copy of the Inner Sea World Guide.

-- The game will be Arcane magic focused. Although to tell the truth, I'd like to do an Ars Magica game set in Golarion sometime.

-- In case this gets shut down, it won't stop me from running a home game (I have a hard copy of the book, yay me!).

-- Another thing, I'm looking for five players. Note this is a short game. One where the group will most likely play through a couple of encounters. I'd like everyone to pass down play test notes to me on where we can tweak it.

-- Oh, I'm looking for players who aren't afraid of doing math. In short, I'd like players who got THAC0 and had no problem with the Skill System in 3rd edition.

Can you describe what makes this magic system interesting and appealing to you?

Yes. Instead of the Vancian system, which is level based and spells are erased from Memory, the Dynamic Spellcasting System is skill based. Each spell has a casting DC, which you have to surpass to successfully cast the spell. Also, you will be able to cast any spell you know. No memorizing from a spellbook, or praying to a deity to help you prepare the spell.

Of course there is a price. You suffer drain every time you successfully cast a spell. In regular d20 games, this shows up as non-lethal damage.

From the book:
Casting any spell is a standard action that requires no special words or gestures and no other ingredients. A character that knows a spell may cast it as often as he or she desires, with no preparation time or additional study required. Spellcasting is draining, however, and most people will get worn out after a prolonged session of working magic.

In game terms, casting a spell requires a Fortitude Save against the spell’s Drain. The result of the Save determines the amount of Drain suffered by the caster. If the Fortitude Save is failed by 10 or more, a Control check will also be required to determine if the spellcaster can maintain control over the flow of energy coursing through him or her.

It's an easier, if math involved, method of casting magic.

Interested.

Good. Any others?

This is your chance to try a skill based magic casting system.

The system is super dynamic and very cinematic actually.
Would probably be very cool to play.

That…is actually really interesting. I like it aloof.
