Chaotic player needs to get his fix (push you luck classes / builds)

Advice

I have a player who is chaos personified. He really enjoys classes that pushes the limits and either goes nuclear or goes out in flames. He likes to push his luck. He likes wild magic effects, the wilder the better. He would love a option to go max damage/effect but with great risk of horrible mutations or devastating damage to himself or even the party. What would you advice him to play in PF2 what class and build would you recommend to fulfill his gambling needs?

(and yes we still like him, in fact he's the architect behind some of the most epic scenes in our campaigns)

example

When we played DnD5e (Out of the Abyss) he snuck away from the party and convinced Themberchaud (the Wyrmsmith, red dragon from the dnd movie btw) of Gracklstugh (rolled a 20 to convince him) to rebel against his jailers. He ended up riding the red dragon as it laid waste to the entire city of Gracklstugh and the rest of the party had to flee the burning city while watching the dragon strafe the city streets with the mad duergar sorcerer (wild magic) laughing maniacally from its back. This was his vengeance against the city and his father who had exiled him in his past.

He spent the next two sessions chained by the rest of the party.

The Wellspring Mage comes to mind when you speak about chaos.

And the Magus can reach insane critical hits with Spellstrike. In my opinion, it's the best class for crit fishing.

Chronoskimmer can gamble with their initative

Harrower has effeccts based on the Harrow Card drawn, so thats also luck/gambling based

But generally pf2 is mit a very swingy system so the Potential for randomized Chaos are limited

If he's a caster he could also look for spells with random effects like Chromatic Ray.

My wife played a chaotic Sorcerer (an insane Ganzi Nyktera Sprite based on Robin William's Batty from Fern Gully). She built several tables for rolling dice to choose her actions.

One was for "what to do" 1d6: 1. Move; 2. Cast; 3. Taunt (w/ Bon Mot); 4. Snarl (Demoralize), 5 and 6 act "smartly" instead of randomly.

Another was to select her spell where one die roll (choosing an appropriate 1dX) selected the spell rank to cast (rolling 1 was a cantrip) then another die roll, usually 1d4, to select which spell in her repertoire to cast of the rank she rolled. And she learned every one of the randomized effect spells she could.

It was rather fun. She'd "pre-roll" her randomized turn choices on others' turns to avoiding bogging down the encounter on her own turn. And sometimes the situation dictated that she react "lucidly" and she'd ignore her randomization.

Easy. Swashbuckler. That is pretty much the entire point of the class. Run with Fencer, Wit, or Braggart and go big or go home.

Oh, you are looking for magic classes...

Ancestors Oracle has a built-in random table.

For a less random but still chaotic suggestion, this player might enjoy the Psychic. The POWER OVERWHELMING theming of Unleash Psyche might appeal to their desire for risk/reward, and it sounds like they'd enjoy fizzling out a little early and spending the rest of the encounter roleplaying being stupefied... I think I'd recommend Oscillating Wave and Emotional Acceptance and just focus on blowing things up.

Grand Lodge

Bullet dancer Monk.
Feint, shoot and leap high using the backlash from the gun.
Lots of cool stunts and plenty of opportunity for failure.
Focus spells if you want a bir of magic as well.

Whatever they do, if they end up using weapons you gotta tell them about the Anarchic property rune. It sounds incredibly funny.

Reminded me of the Unexpected Sharpshooter archetype. Sounds like something the OP's player could enjoy.
