I'm sad about that. I liked the imagery of firing a bolt into someone and pinning them to a wall or the deck of a ship or what have you.
I would see that better as a feat. A Pinning Shot action or something like that.
As a crit spec, it wouldn't come up often. You couldn't cause the effect on demand since it relies on crits, and you don't have control over the enemy's positioning.
As a feat, you can use the action on demand when they happen to move themselves into the right spot. Or in alternate versions of the feat I m thinking up, you could trade off some of the damage to pin their foot to whatever ground they are standing on.

Knife crit spec feels kind of bad with how poorly it scales. Hopefully they've done something about that for remaster.
Though metal kineticist crit spec has the same problem so maybe not.
From what I remember from running numbers about kusarigama vs other weapons, bleed crit spec is roughly equal to a die size increase.

Perhaps, but that's pretty cold comfort when it was a thing crossbows could do previously, and bows still can, unreliability of crits or no.
