"Artifact Hunters" -- A Warhammer Campaign recruitment

Recruitment

This is not a Play-by-Post campaign.

Now that's out of the way. I wanted to recruit for a game on Roll20. The game happens weekly -- on Thursdays starting at 6:30 pm Mountain Daylight Time (that's 8:30 EDT, and 7:30 CDT, folks). It will go until 9:30 pm MDT. This will give me a chance to shakedown the rules of Warhammer Fantasy before I review them on my blog.

The campaign will be accorded T.V. structure thanks to Robin D. Laws and his article in Dragon #293. The Campaign will be a little like Indiana Jones, "The Librarians", with the costumes and sets of The Taming of the Shrew and "Upstart Crowe".

Formula: The heroes are artifact hunters looking for artifacts of antiquity. Not everyone is an academic, and not everyone is a warrior.

Theme: Artifacts belong in a museum, and not in the hands of private collectors.

Tone: High adventure in the Riekland.

PRODUCTION DESIGN
One should watch Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, and the Librarian (on iTunes). You should also watch the Taming of the Shrew with Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor (available on iTunes) and hopefully a few episodes of "Upstart Crowe" (also on iTunes).

Obiviously, you should look through Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (4th Edition) and look at the art. The Empire is currently in the Renaissance. The .pdf is cheap, and I can provide a link on DriveThru if you need it.

What You Need
1. Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (4th Edition)

Character Creation
Character creation will happen here, rather than in the Roll20 room. I'm looking for five adventurers. We will have 1 season of 14 episodes. If you rather choose your race (or species) and career, you may do so. Oh, you may choose an actor or actress that you like to be your character's face.

I think that will do it. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.

Okay so WHF-RPG has other races other than Human but the movie tropes you outline are all purely Human in content. So are you allowing races other than Human? If yes, how do these non-Human races meld into the world as a whole?

Since the Taming of the Shrew took place in the 16th Century is this the time period-ish for the fantasy realm we are partaking in?

Yes, I'm allowing all five species in the main book. :) The movie tropes are there to inspire you to make characters. I wanted you to watch movies that has the same sort of styles that are seen in the Warhammer Fantasy Roleplaying Game. That basically means the Taming of the Shrew and "Upstart Crow."

There isn't any movies based on Warhammer, so I tried to pick production design that would figure into it. Of course there are no dwarves with mohawks. Or elves with graceful features. (But there were halflings).

Any specific lore we'd need to know?

** spoiler omitted **

I think you get the talents listed for your race (species), and choose one where you are presented with a choice. So you should have more talents.

As for your class: did you roll for it? IF you did, you get an XP bonus.

Yeah, it's wording confused me. Now corrected.

------------------------------------------------------------

Slade sat at one of the communal tables in the inn. The dwarf had left the mountain earlier in life to earn his fortune. The gods had told him, through portents and omens, to use the tools of the elves to help kill their magic-throwing brethren.

Well, all magic-chuckers, regardless of race, would find themselves on the wrong side of his blades. The common folk would see him as a hero for all the spell-spewers that he ended. But the Law saw him as a criminal.

A fine young lass sets a warm pie in front of him. She whispers, "Thanks for ridding us of the corruption." She pauses and adds, "Brave, brave fighter."

Alright. Lets see -- anything else you need from me before you do your motivational goals?

I think it's up to date.

I'm ready for the Motivational goals. Ask me whatever you need.

Alright, what is his short term goal, and his long term goal?

*Short-term Ambitions represent your immediate goals. They are outcomes you wish to achieve within days and weeks, possibly sooner. Under normal circumstances, a short-term Ambition should take at least two or three sessions to complete.*

Slade needs to find a secluded camp, where he can store his loot from the befouled elven-spawned prestidigitators. But they don't have to be elven.

*Long-term Ambitions are goals you will need to work on for months or years to complete, and may never be achieved at all, perhaps taken more as a description of a primary motivation in your life than a realistic outcome.*

Create a mage assassins guild.

Looks alright. I'll create the game, and send you a joining link. :)
