Scaled Disciple Build

Advice

I am trying to think of the best way to build a Kobold. Has anyone been able to make it work?

The Scaled Disciple intrigues me.

I was thinking perhaps a Vanilla Inquisitor with the Anger Inquisition, and going into Dragon Disciple at 7

What do people think?

making a kobold work depend on the build.
i had a beloved kobold sorcerer who used his bite attack and breath weapon (which dc was based on his cha and not his poor con) as requirements for noxious bite.
anyone who thought i was easy to deal with in close melee would get a true strike bite attack with a vary nasty debuff...

as the dragon breath you get from the dragon domain is wis based you can get that into high dc as well.

Inquisitor doesn't seem like the best choice since you lose out on so many good class features by going into DD. It's a bit cheeky, but I'd enter through the Cleric class instead. You can spontaneously cast cure/inflict spells so you do qualify.

As for successful Kobolds, I really enjoyed my Fat Tail UnRogue. 15 ft reach, sneak attack on AoOs, shuts down enemy movement, and good survivability from being in total concealment.

Divine Commander Warpriest.
Wild Whisperer Druid.
Pearl Seeker Paladin.

Dragon Mystery Oracle with the Hunger curse… if you are especially enterprising you can take a few levels of Barbarian (or even Skald or Primal Bloodrager) and build into Rage Prophet in addition to Dragon disciple… I’ve actually got a work-in progress build that does this…

The biggest problem with scaled disciple though is giving up a feat just to use your spontaneous divine caster to qualify for Dragon Disciple…

Totally worth it. Not every feat has to serve some mechanical purpose in combat...

The reason I call it a problem is its difficult to find the best time to take that feat without delaying your progression at the wrong time… caster focused scaled disciple is easy enough to sort out, but a martial focused scaled disciple may have several high value feats they want as early as possible… but that view might be influenced by the fact that feat priority ordering is one of my weak points… I spend more time trying to figure out what order I should take the feats I want or need for a build than I do figuring out the entire rest of the build as a whole…
