I will be dming a adventure path almost everybody within the pathfinder community should know but for those who do not know Kingmaker is where your characters are asked to reclaim the stolen lands. Since almost everyone (including myself) has played through or gmed the AP I will be customizing it to surprise even the veteran kings.
This game is play by post.
Each player will be expected to create a character, a backstory, and the general outline of one of the surrounding countries (rules for doing so will be provided).

            Hi
I am familiar with the rules for 2e (I own and have read through the core book) but I've never played 2e. Will this be a game appropriate for newbies to the 2e system? (I've played 1e, f2f and pbp)
Also, this is being run through discord? And it's pbp not video or voice? Just so I'm clear.

Yes I always welcome newbies into my games no matter the system, and as it happens I am somewhat of a newbie to pathfinder 2e myself.
The game is ran through discord, and it is indeed play by post (or pbp for short).

Ive never played pf2e before but I've been wanting to try it out for a long while. So I'd be interested to apply
I've been watching a lot of videos on youtube like how its played and similar stuff the past few months, so I think I have a decent baseline for understanding the system for someone who has never played.

I'm very familiar with PF2e. Completed an AP, currently in three games, and running one. I'm glad to help people figure out what they want to play and give advice.
I've applied via the form, but here's more details. (yes, I'm reusing an app that didn't make the cut for another KM game.)
I'm going going for the Local Brigand background, so I'm very open to sharing a background with other people escaping that life. It makes sense that we left the same group.

Knaxshi has lived his life on the move. At first it was with the caravans of his extended family. When scouting, his group took down a group of bandits. One of them had a gun and alchemical equipment. Over the next couple of months, Knaxshi figured out how to fire it and how to use the alchemical kit to make more rounds. Over the next couple of years, he got really good with the gun.
But sometimes even a ysoki needs to leave his family. He decided to travel, find adventure and make his fortune. Everybody knew adventure was the way to make something of yourself and achieve success. So he fell in with the first group that was recruiting. Hannoy Shan was the brains of the group. The one to find the targets, make the plans, and deal with security measures. Gravox was the muscle, a short-tempered half orc with a big butcher's axe. Unalisa was the magic, a genietouched sorceress.
As a group they dealt with some goblins and cave full of kobolds, but then they figured this was too much work. It was easier to haunt the roads and let the prey come to you. Being a bandit wasn't what Knaxshi signed up for. He'd been on the merchant's side of that often enough. But Shan wasn't the type to brook dissent, and he was the kind to take revenge on people he thought had wronged him.
Planning his escape took three months, a keg of black power, 200 foot of rope, a bit of luck and several days of non-stop running. But now that he's free, he's going to be looking for a better set of companions.

Hey there, I just applied to the form and I'm crossing my fingers! I'm very new to PF2e, but keen on getting into an AP!
Character sheet for Rashazthe Beastkin Lizardfolk Cleric
When Rashaz was barely an adult, he grew tired from a long night of patrol and chose to nap in a warm sunlit patch. He awoke to the admonishment of some small fey creature, who questioned if he was some nocturnal lizard, being a layabout in the day. He was then cursed by the fey to become half-bat.
He hurried to his mother to seek guidance but was quickly turned away. Sriex knew that the Fey in these forests were not to be trifled with, and would not anger them further by giving hospitality to one so cursed. She called him foolish and banished him from her sight, lest the next time would be at the edge of a spear.
Rashaz wandered the woods, desperate for hope or an answer of any kind. Then he met a priest* of Erastil who offered succor, food by the camp and most importantly companionship to the lonely lizardfolk. The priest shared spiritual guidance from Erastil and even supposed that the god may grant Rashaz support. In a dream, Rashaz felt he was visited by a messenger of the God Erastil, to help bring civilization to the Stolen Lands.
Taking that as a sign, he told the priest the vision, and was advised to go to Rostov where there was such an expedition being planned, and where one with his skill set could be useful indeed.
*If you have a priest in mind, I'm happy to go with that, I left it open.
He despises his maligned (in his mind) bat like form, and has found difficulty controlling it for refusing to engage with his new body, so is usually stuck in hybrid form. Even his non-hybrid form is not as agile or strong as it once was, much to his disappointment.
New companions that accept him will make him desperately try to be useful, for his fear of abandonment is always waiting in the wings, even if he has difficulty expressing these feelings. He is very happy to be told what to do, offering insight only when asked.
I'm going going for the Local Brigand background, so I'm very open to sharing a background with other people escaping that life. It makes sense that we left the same group.
I also submitted as former brigand as a concept, but I'm happy to adjust my background to make things fit. The original concept was my mum led the group and it was all Lizardfolk, but I'm also happy to say that it was a mix of races and even that it was just my mom and I who were the only Lizardfolk in there, to fit your concept better.

Hmmm... your backstory works really well, I wouldn't want to change it that much.
So I have a different idea in mind. Your group and mine had overlapping territories and had run into each other a few times. The conflict was escalating each time and both groups wanted to eliminate the competition. They just each needed some advantage, like ambushing the other's camp.
While scouting we come across each other. We come to a small clearing and train your bow and my gun on each other. For the moment we're alone, though others would come running if there were a fight.
By this point, we're both reconsidering our lifestyle. We don't want to start a fight. We sit there, watching each other guardedly. Neither of us attacking, neither of us calling for backup.
Rashaz probably figures it out first, but waits a moment until Knaxshi figures it out. We both set our weapons aside. We talk for a bit, but still don't quite trust each other.
I'm not sure where on your storyline you want to put this. I'm thinking before your banishment but after the curse. You then meet the priest and decide to go. On your way you visit the clearing. I've been visiting the clearing every once in a while myself. When you say that you are leaving your family and have a new calling, I ask if I can come with you. But that timing is up to you.

** spoiler omitted **
I was thinking, if the DM approved, that I swap my background from Bandit to Cursed, but keep the backstory stuff. I didn't know Cursed existed but it seems to work well.
Your idea works for me. I imagine I wasn't tossed out immediately, but definitely put at arms length and felt like an outcast. Probably why I had no support when I went out hunting you. You could tell my heart wasn't in the hunt, that I almost wanted you to shoot me.
Maybe the priest was kidnapped by my family, and I decided to help him escape. Maybe I bring you along, or ask you to help with me escaping my family, and in exchange I'll take you along to civilization with us.
Just some wild thoughts.

New to PF2. I've played through the first act of Kingmaker in PF1 and in the CRPG, but that's it.
Applied via the app but I'll post here to expand.
Character Concept:
Kho-boom
Hobgoblin Inventor from the Inner Seas. Kho-boom, born Khoneg, altered their name after becoming a decorated military cannoneer. After he spent his early years as Cannoneer aboard a military vessel, then found his love of numbers and gears. He holds onto the training as an Artillerist for practical purposes but his true passion lies within the Constructs he builds. Reaching the ripe age of 30 he's found that research is expensive and he's looking for a noble to siphon funds from.

Sounds great. Now we just need a PC cleric to rope in!

Well, the first choice is warpriest or cloistered cleric. I suggest warpriest for your first cleric. It's a good all-around choice as the divine list isn't great for attack spells.
For stats you need to get wisdom for cleric spells, charisma for your healing font. Strength or dex depending on what weapon you use, and con to not die. Int and whichever combat stat you don't use are the ones you can afford to lose.
what ancestry were you thinking of?

Tentatively interested... I of course know about kingmaker but has never played it, yet I've heard a few things
I'm fairly familiar with 2e but a little rusty, haven't played in a few monts and I'm not too adept at using discord hope that's not a deal breaker
As for character concept... I should read the player guide first xD
Maybe my main character who is a wizard

Wow, I had looked at the 1e players guide before, but the 2e one is awesome. I really like the groupings into the stuff best for the adventure and things less common.
Note to DM Jikans - I did expect gunslingers to be thin on the ground. I took the feat that lets me make my own ammunition, so that covers the main issue. I figure that I'll either be crafting my own stuff or going without. I don't expect to need a lot of special treatment.

In general, I use the term "frontline" for the people who are always in melee, often holding foes back from others. Even when they know they are going to get a lot of attention. It's their main modus operandi. Barbarians, fighters, champions.
Investigators and rogues and magi and similar types generally have several different tricks. They aren't running out ahead of everybody else and risking getting swamped. They are by no means afraid of combat, but they need to use strategy to get full effectiveness and to keep themselves safe. They play differently.
Obviously, some classes blur the line and then feats and archetypes can move people further.
I've played an investigator. He couldn't hold up as a frontliner in this group, but we had a fighter and champion, so he didn't need to. I used the big guys to set up good tactical spots. Since I had picked up some spells, when my stratagem sucked, I had other options.

I got it, no worries.
Anyway - I have a few ideas in mind, but it depends on the build rules. Free archetype, ancestral paragon, etc.
I'm flexible in terms of class. WOndering whether this will actually run, since it's been a few weeks since the OP and no response since. We'll see.
