This is NOT a recruitment thread but if there’s sufficient interest I will start one!
Ever since young Prince Carrius II died in a riding accident the question of who will succeed Grand Prince Stavian III has kept loyal Taldans awake at night. Attempts at resurrection failed and Stavian separated from his wife Etroffe and refused to remarry, leaving no direct male heir. After Stavian would the crown really pass to a distant and untested cousin? What of Princess Eutropia, his estranged daughter, could she beat the odds and change the law of succession?
My Ruins of Adventure game will be wrapping up in the next few months and I’m thinking about what to run next, and War for the Crown caught my eye.
I’m proposing to run an abridged War for the Crown, books 1-4 doubling down on the central conflict which is the battle for emancipation of female rights (plus sweeping reforms to four thousand years of often contradictory laws) in the face of traditionalism bordering on fascism.
I aim for this to take three to four years in total. To do this I’ll need to ruthlessly cut extraneous content.
Is anyone interested?

Certainly. Then again I'm willing to play anything.

If this will be run using Pathfinder 2e I'm interested.
Interested indeed! Oh vey, social combat ahahahah!
Hey, DM Fang Dragon, Ellioti is right, I think you'll find plenty of interest. Is "an abridged War for the Crown, books 1-4" a hard and fast decision, or is the last two books a possibility if the first four go well?
This sounds intense, and I love RP! I'm interested!
Intrigued. Waiting to see more.

@John Riston This will be a 1E game, although at some point I intend to dip my toes into 2E!
Re books 5-6 I've read my way through the whole AP and I'm far from convinced they're needed story wise. I like the arc from 1-4 and I think with a few modifications book 4 will make a satisfying end. I don't want to say more for risk of spoiling things, beyond zomg social combat.
Looking at an abridged game from another angle, there have only been a handful of completed APs on these boards and many thousands that didn't last the course. Life throws the best of us curveballs and while I have a pretty good idea what I'll be doing in 2-3 years time, I really couldn't say 5+ years out.
I aim to bring each game I run to a satisfying conclusion and I think the stats suggest this is waaaay more likely for an abridged game.

This is an AP I have interest in exploring.
I always imagine myself far more eloquent than I actually am (but I admit it!), so a chance to pretend I'm even better plays nicely to my ego.
C'mon. I'm not alone here. Except maybe for being willing to admit it.
I'll be interested in joining in if you're going to run it. I also hope to try out 2e if you're interested in doing that too.
Interested if the system is 1E :) I think the AP may work well on forums, since it has more intrigue/RP possibilities than the regular hack-n-slash ones.
Quote: John Riston This will be a 1E game, although at some point I intend to dip my toes into 2E! Ok, thanks! I'll bow out then as it seems there's plenty of interest. Good luck!
Well, I will happen to have my RoA ending about that same time. Weird.
Intrigue, costumes balls, wigs, and a bit of "Blood and Gold" motif.
Yes please!
Also definitely interested!
I was temporarily part of a gestalt version of this campaign, but wouldn't mind retooling this character for another crack at it.
Potentially yes, depending on how many games I'm in at the time. It's an AP I've never played and would like to.
Count me in! War for the Crown is one of my favorites but I’ve never managed to get further than the beginning.
I'd be intrigued. I got to play just the very beginning and that was all. Very excited to see the build rules for it :)
I would be highly interested and a 3 year commitment seems legit for that.
For PbP, making an abridged version is probably a good idea.
Definitely sounds interesting!
I've wanted to play in this, or some other sort of intrigue heavy game/AP for several years now, so definitely count me interested as well!
Looks like there's plenty of interest, so let's do this. I'll make a recruitment thread.
