It's available in the Avid Collector - Advanced Player's Guide boon. Full text is on the FAQ page.

I remember there being a big stink about the daikyu before, I think around having reload -- made it not eligible for some stuff that it should have been. Now the daikyu is like a composite long bow, but it loses deadly and volley and has a somewhat shorter range, while also being a uncommon advanced weapon.
I'm still not sure a daikyu is worth it if you need to expend any resources on getting access to it or advancing your proficiency with it, but I think it's probably not a trap option like it was before.

In general it isn't worth it. But I have a specific character where either this or the Hornbow work well.
A corgi riding sprite warpriest worshipping Cernunnos
He had made it to level 7 before I noticed that he was completely illegal (none of the several GMs I'd played with had noticed either) as he was using his longbow while mounted. Clearly illegal although sufficiently obscure that virtually nobody knows it is illegal.
So, if I retrain to him having the Archer Archetype he suddenly becomes viable again. Although his favourite trick no longer works (longbow from range and electric arc from close up using the independent familiar to move him appropriately) :-(.

Ascalaphus wrote:Where would I find that FAQ?The FAQ also lists regions for some weapons, for the purpose of unconventional weaponry. But it doesn't list the daikyu, so that's not an option.
So how can you gain scaling proficiency in it? The fighter 6 feat, the archer 6 feat, any other way?
Go to Character Creation, fifth item down.
Frustratingly, there's no way to link directly to that answer as far as I know, nor does the site make it easy to copy and paste the whole text along with the question itself.
For Unconventional Weaponry, look for access conditions based upon nationality, ethnic group, or other groups of similar broad significance. It does not cover organizations that PCs might choose to join (such as the Firebrands, Hellknights, Knights of Lastwall, or Magaambya).
For the purposes of Pathfinder Society play, choosing the following regions as a Home Region (or with the World Traveler boon) grants access to the following items:
Region Items Granted
Vudra katar, temple sword, urumi
Jinin, Minkai, Shokuro kama, katana, naginata, nunchaku, sai, shuriken, tekko-kagi, wakizashi
Golden Road kukri, khopesh
Impossible Lands katar, kukri, temple sword, urumi
Mwangi Expanse mambele
Saga Lands bladed scarf
[NEW] High Seas boarding axe
