Anyone remember the movie Pathfinder, which was about a viking stranded in North America?

And didn't the famous American author James Fenimore Cooper write a novel called "The Pathfinder" as part of his Natty Bumppo or Leatherstocking series back in the 1800s? I remember thinking at first that the movie referenced above might be an adaptation of that novel until further research revealed that not to be the case.
