Today I was reading the poppet ancestry release in Grand Bazaar when I noticed as any other ancestry they could use versatile heritages. But thinking more closely how could someone explain a dhampir, beastkin or even a duskwalker poppet!?
If you create such kind of over rare poppet how could you explain it's flavor?

I mean, you just gotta make up a good enough story.
A duskwalker poppet might be the soul of a child, returned inside their beloved toy. A dhampir poppet is a horrible murderous thing, like Chucky - perhaps animated by a bloodthirsty curse. A beastkin poppet is a stuffed animal that dreams of becoming real someday. Any of the planar/elemental ones could be made of resonant materials.

Tiefling- possessed doll. Demon trapped in a weak vessel, or soul escaped from one of the evil planes and hiding out in a doll. Or perhaps someone trying to get their soul out of a bad deal with a minor devil.
Aasimar- blessed doll. Blessed with life by Shelyn for being a treasured creation by a child, or bestowed life by an angel in order to protect a child. Also usable for a doll made from religious items, as mentioned in the religion section.
Changeling- curse doll. Too strong of a connection was formed with the victim, and a bit of soul got lodged in the doll.
Ganzi- this is exactly the kind of thing that a protean would do.
Aphorite- a trial model with more Inevitable construct features.
Elemental planar scions- it's like Kineticist, but what happens when that planar energy is tied to an object, or an elemental slips through and gets stuck. Alternatively, somebody on Jalmeray tried to animate their kid's doll by putting a weak elemental into it.
Ifrit specifically- a burned effigy that has taken on a life of its own.

Due to the Poppet and Automaton special psuedo-construct status, they don't have an immunity to things like Lycanthropy, so that route is open for Beastkin.
The blood of a beast flows through your veins, granting you the ferocity and might of animals. Only creatures with the humanoid trait can take the beastkin versatile heritage.
Emphasis mine. So, weirdly, by RAW, the poppet can take the Beastkin heritage but the Automaton and Leshy can't.
Still, it's two rare options interacting so we are firmly in GM fiat territory at this point. If they're ok with you playing a Mighty Morphin' Were-Robot, I don't see anything unbalancing about it.

It starts with vetoing it as the GM if you don't like it, since they're all uncommon.
Always an option, yeah. But if poppet is okayed, versatile heritages can be a good way to add more mechanical oomph behind a lot of common origins. A witch's familiar that broke free is going to work better with changeling. An animal plush will probably get more thematic mileage out of beastkin than the stuffed heritage.

As an ancestry that's created, it's pretty simple to have something related to the heritage used in their construction as a reason for it. A beastkin could have some fur, bone or feathers used; a dhampir could be made with the wood from a vampires coffin or it's silk lining; A dustwalker might use a psychopomps mask or any material from the Boneyard. OR it could simply be that the poppet was made in the form of the heritage: dhampir are pale and have visible canines, beastkin have some animal ears and a tail or a duskwalkers are their distinctive ash-gray.

A teddy bear that wants to be a real bear?

Learned to read on it!

I have an undine poppet in mind, a marionette who was created by a person with a grudge against a villainous marid, who used a single lock of the marid's hair to infuse the marionette with water magic such that they might better resist it in battle, an act that brought life to the doll.
They're an order of the flame druid, working hard to overcome their fear of fire so that they can learn to manipulate steam and face off against the marid they so loathe.

Summoner all the way.
Now maybe Calvin is actually the Eidolon.
