"housekeeping mage" magic

Advice

Howdy!

What are some spells (and tradition if you happen to know). that do well to support a "housekeeping mage" style idea?

effectively they're an adventurer who specializes, partly, in creature comforts on adventure. They're well versed in cooking, cleaning, they can create comfortable sleeeping arrangements (extra points if theyr'e safer for it). Soften the ground to sleep on, or cozy cabin style thing. Make food tastier, handle bad elements, etc.

What are some spells you know of that fills that?

Creating Molly Weasely?

Low hanging fruit (I haven't sorted these by tradition, so probably can't get them all on one character):

Prestidigitation

Purify Food and Drink
Unseen Servant
Thoughtful Gift
Create Water
Mending

Create Food
Persistent Servant
Shape Wood

Cozy Cabin
Safe Passage

Well not really Molly haha. There is a manga I was reading that has a theme of that. But it just happens to be that my character I'm building right now would want a few things in general.. at least stuff like cozy cabin. and realized they're already sort of 'help others be better' style so i might look at leaning more towards that..
with a witch dip or runescarred dip.

Thanks! i'll look through some of them.

Knapsack of Halflinkind seems like an item this character would appreciate.

There are also both of the mansion spells to consider as well.

I'd probably go with arcane for this character. Yeah some spells for helping with food creation and prep are divine, but by and large they're low-ish level, so you should be able to get by pretty easily with Trick Magic Item and a few wands with some reasonable religion investment.

You can also dabble in alchemy. Many alchemical items improve quality of life, narratively speaking. Things like Winter Wolf elixirs, for example.

Don't forget the Animate Object Ritual
You can make brooms that keep on sweeping, tables that set themselves, beds that make themselves etc

If you want to make a really good meal and don't feel like cooking get heroes' feast

Plant Growth is a great ritual if you have your own little vegetable garden (and the neighbours will love you)

With Primal call or Planar Ally/Binding you could get some little creatures to help out around the house, be careful who do you get as a house keeper though

And since Create food itself is 'bland and unappealing' I would suggest getting Enhance Victuals (if you are a primal or divine caster)

Impeccable Flow is probably also useful to get your everyday chores done a little easier and more efficient

Locate is useful whenever you forgot where the heck you put [random household item]

Bandit's Doom is a really nice spell to protect the family heirloom/the hidden bag with the savings/the freshly baked pie that has to cool down (we all know that :P)

oh some great spells here! Wands seem really usesful for this one..

though i dn't know if the long casting wand of cozy cabin would work... its 1min casting so it depends if the GM views it as "succed the first use and you continue" or "have to pass it every round of a min" or " can't because it stops working at he end of your round" with trick magic item.

but a lot of the other ones look great for my purposes.

that knapsack is amazing! I never saw it before and going to rejigger my gold for it

Those last two options are functionally equivalent - it is just that the middle one requires more rolling. There is practically zero chance that you can succeed at the check 10 times in a row if there is any possibility of failure. If you fail only on a 1, that is still only a 59% chance of overall success. If you fail on a 2 it drops to 34%. So any ruling other than one roll per casting - no matter how long the casting takes - is just the GM shutting the idea down entirely.

Maybe bullhorn or message to let everyone know when mealtime begins. ;)
