My argument for the three-parters is for increased variety; more themes and more parts of the setting hit mean more chances for something really awesome to happen. That, plus my group and most of those I know couldn’t realistically finish six books.
That's fair! I would love seeing more parts of the world/different themes/so on.

I'm amazed by groups that play APs faster than they are printed. It took my group eight sessions of four to six hours each (plus session 0) to finish book one of Age of Ashes, and twelve sessions to finish book two. Doing each of those in a month seems like a breakneck pace to me, and my game feels kinda fast already.

I think the idea of doing one 6-part and two 3-parts every year (at least for a while) sounds amazing. With the 3-parts being like these recent ones (the first being level 1 to 11, and the second being from 11 to 20), it lets folks either keep going into the second 3-parter or move on to something else.
I am very enthusiastic about this idea, if it were to be implemented.

I see that Paizo is moving towards 3 book APs which cover only half the level range.
I peeked at the 2022 schedule and you should expect a mix of 3-volume and 6-volume APs. Monthly for Pathfinder, bi-monthly for Starfinder. With Bounties, One-Shots, Society Scenarios, Adventures, 3-volume Adventure Paths and 6-volume Adventure Paths, we hope every group can create the play experience that is right for them.
Personal Note: I'm 50 now and played AD&D, but I've played too many video games to not enjoy leveling up fairly frequently.
As a Marketing Manager, well honestly those decisions are made at the highest levels of Paizo, but I'm confident that frequent level-ups are what the younger demographic expects. And it shows off how you get to make meaningful choices at every level in Pathfinder. And every Marketing 101 class will tell you to target people early in life because people don't like change.
That reminds me of the time I worked for a company that was based on selling a product to people who reject change from the market leader and wanted to stick with what they had. And then the company saw the writing on the wall and decided to launch a new edition that was in the spirit of the old game, but with very different rules. Boy, howdy, was that ever in interesting time to join a company... wait where was I? Where are my glasses? Anyway, glad it worked out for them.

I'm glad you all did. You gave us something more satisfying than dnd 5e and less tedious than pathfinder 1e. If your target demo was players in their 20s that started with 5e then missioned accomplished with me at least. Congratz
