Conrasu (Mwangi Expanse Book Spoilers)

Pathfinder Second Edition General Discussion

In the last Paizo Live was revealed how they look.

HERE

They are shards of intelligent planar essence with wooden exo-skeletons, while the art have many arms, the arms have harden over time and have become immovable, so they grow new ones, so it's not a multiple armed ancestry. The stat spread is +CON +WIS +FREE -CHA, and it looks that they can use sunlight for healing once a day.

Also more spoilers from that live in this reddit post. LINK

Ooo good tree druid stat spread. Leshies are great but now I can still be a plant druid (with leshy familiar and arboreal sapling) AND not be small. I'm sold

Interesting and strange. I am glad they are there but I feel this is definitely one ancestry that doesn't fit with a typical party. They don't have a face.

I'm glad we're getting to the point in PF2's life cycle where we can start seeing weird s%#$.

Plant ancestry hype!

And despite that CHA flaw, I still see myself making a bunch of CHA casters with them. Thank you voluntary flaws.

And then people say that love at first sight isn't really a thing, pff!

Well most parties have a face of the group so you're good.

Yeah, that’s the shisk or gnoll’s job.

I'm excited to play my stick in the mud tree druid person with no sense of social grace or humor.........while also making scuttling root noises whenever I describe them moving around.

i wonder what their speed(s?) will be given they don't seem to have legs

Special Containment Procedures: Conrasu are to be kept in a locked container at all times. When personnel must enter the Conrasu's container, no fewer than 3 may enter at any time and the door is to be relocked behind them. At all times, two persons must maintain direct eye contact with the Conrasu until all personnel have vacated and relocked the container...

I love it. I want it. This is a design I can get behind. I really love that the second plant isn't just bigger plant or green human. I wonder how its soul mechanic will compare to Leshies and Androids.
"Hello, I am literally a piece of spacetime here to beat your rear." That planar essence bit makes versatile heritages super-easy to justify too.

The most important questions though: what's it based on? Is it from African myths, folklore, or religion? Seems Animism inspired to me. Also, what's the plural? Conrasus, Conrasues, Conrasi, Bonrasu?

I don't recognize it from any African folklore or mythology that I've read, but there could be something I missed. It seems original to me based on what we know about it.

Yeah, I'm no expert, but I assume this is original - which is fine by me. It's a corner of the setting with heavy African inspirations, but new fantasy is allowed to fit in alongside material brought in from our world.
