Can I Play a Pregen?

Pathfinder Society

Sorry if I missed this in the FAQ, but I am a little lost. I signed up for some events at a virtual con. Most of the Society adventures are for Tier 1 characters, but one is for Tier 3. I don't have a character who has gotten that high (or even played a single PFS game yet).
In the past at conventions there were pregens I could take. Is this still allowed in the new system?

3-6 should be able to take the L5 pregens?

It depends which game system you're talking about, but in all cases it should be ok.

PFS2 (second edition) has pregen's at 1,3, and 5. So there's definitely a level 3 pregen available there, if its a 3-6 tier game you're looking at.

PFS1 (First Edition) has pregens at levels 1, 4, and 7. If its a Tier 1-5, you'll likely use the level 1 pregen, If its a tier 3-7, you'd use the level 4 in most cases.

SFS IIRC has pregens at 1,4,7 as well and would follow the same rules of thumb as PFS1.

1/4/8 for Starfinder, but yes otherwise.

PFS1 Pregens can be found HERE, PFS2 Pregens HERE, and SFS Pregens HERE.

To add to the avove comments, most GMs will have the appropriate level pregens available on the Virtual Table for you to use. (Though it never hurts to have a backup plan!)

In the online community it is important to notify your GM in advance if you intend to use a pregen and expect them to provide it for you, especially if it is not 1st level. Not every GM has them prepped in advance so it could delay the game if the first they hear about it is the start time.
