Mike Allred and David Bowie

Comics

I was listening to Hunky Dory by David Bowie and I noticed that the last song on the album, The Bewlay Brothers, mentions "Moonboys" and "Factor Max". I may be making something out of nothing, but those are both names for characters in Mike Allred's excellent Madman comics. Is it possible that Allred drew inspiration from Bowie for these characters?

He makes other pop culture references, so I wouldn't put it past him to have a Bowie reference in there.

I recall Factor Max referred to Max Factor according to a history of his works... lemme go take a look.

BTW, that just happens to be my favorite Bowie track.

Yeah, it's a great song. I may like Queen B++#! just a tiny bit better, but almost solely because it was used in the end sequence of Life Aquatic.
