Eidolon Attack of Opportunity

Summoner Class

I'd like to see a feat to gain attack of opportunity for my eidolon. A lot of the fun for me in playing melee characters is using attack of opportunity to deny options to the enemy and protect the back line, but that playstyle just isn't available in the Summoner in this version.

Is attack of opportunity something you'd take, if you had the option? For me, the answer is yes. But I'm curious if I'm the only one feeling its absence.

Some combat reaction(s) would be neat, yeah. Phantom has one, but it's kind of limited and I wish it didn't require them to be adjacent to you.

If not Attack of Opportunity specifically, some sort of combat Reaction.

Most Martials have some way of getting an extra attack as a reaction (AOO, Stand Still, that thing Rogues get where they swing when an ally hits) and without one an Eidolon is technically lacking.

I think I'd prefer something unique to Eidolons, but AOO would be fine.

I agree that having the Eidolon have something that it gets as a Reaction would be excellent.

Perhaps tied to the type, but perhaps it might be something that doesn't have to be tied to the type of Eidolon (although perhaps some might have a prerequisite of one or more forms). That might help some of those who feel like there isn't enough customization of the Eidolon out the gate.

I think having something the Eidolon can use their combined reaction to is a great idea, and would likely help make the Eidolon feel a little more martial.

Although they could have the option of getting AoO, I'd prefer seeing something more flavorful, more like monster abilities from the bestiary.

edit: as a clarification, I'm thinking baked-in at first level, not waiting to spend a feat on it at a higher level. (and no they don't have to be enormous/powerful reactions, just helpful/useful ones)

I like the AoO when summoning in a creature. It's a little short range and only one time. Be nice if they got an AoO every time a summoned creature hit a target. That would be cool.
