When were all the boons taken away from the players? I tried to apply the boon I earned from Plaguestone to the Society character I applied the chronicle sheet to and it said I could not apply it to that character. Same thing for a chronicle sheet boon for AoA. What is going on? Are we not allowed to apply these to our characters anymore without Paizo authorization?

If you're talking about being unable to purchase the 0 cost boon on for a character that had GM credit, rather than player credit, its a know issue they're working on.
If its something else, I'm not sure, player credit characters for me have been able to purchase them no problem.
That was the big issue. I just found out last night in out PFS session that basically Fame has been made obsolete? And then I was confused when I tried to "purchase" certain chronicle boons that I had the play credit applied to those characters....but it said they weren't eligible.

There are a few things that should be briefly mentioned.
1. Boons aren't being taken away.
2. Fame isn't disappearing so much as it's being moved.
Both Fame and the boons you could have purchased with them are being moved over to the AcP system so that there's a single currency.
Nobody on this side of the curtain (the players) know what the conversion rate for Fame, nor the cost of the transferred boons. Those were promised to be elucidated in the October blog post.
So right now we're in a weird purgatory where we know a bunch of changes are happening but nobody knows what those changes will be.
It's not an ideal way to roll out a significant change, but whatever. In a few days/weeks there will be an announcement, and until then, I don't think there's much to do besides wait.
