-Bag of Holding <Type1> for becoming a pack rat / generally the point where a player does not have to worry about Bulk math as much.
-Insistent Door Knocker for when you really need to get into something / or to put a wall between you and something else. + points for being able to apply it in 3-dimensional applications.
-The Feather Tokens all can be pretty good, with special mention going to the 'Chest' version, though the 'Bird' can become even more useful depending on the situation, and don't knock the 'Holly Bush' and its ability to provide instant cover.
-Bottomless Stein {Uncommon} because who does not want/can't find a use for infinite boozes.

My players would endorse the Healer's Gloves and Type I Bag of Holding.
The Arcane casters would add the Hat of the Magi as well as a Wand of Mage Armor, and the array of Staves available at 6th level tend to have something for nearly every arcanist. The Divine casters would add the Staff of Healing. For characters without enhanced vision who want to stay discreet in the dark, the hour per day of Darkvision granted by Goggles of Night has proven quite useful. Finally, Rings of Energy Resistance are ever-popular.
I had a Barbarian PC who picked up a Necklace of Fireballs more or less on a whim. When I the party encountered a Black Pudding, he was terribly happy he'd made the investment. He gave the leftovers to the party Bard and bought a fresh one.
My players have an odd relationship with the Ring of the Ram. They keep them, they end up not using them, and they end up selling them after they level up once or twice.

I tend to pick up the cheap low level items that give extra cantrips, Hand of the Mage, Hat of the Magi, Pendant of the Occult. Also it is worth remembering that all of the staves give a cantrip, starting from level 4.
Low level wands can also be useful, ant haul and longstrider are both very good given their durration.
