Four attacks per round

Rules Discussion

Just a quick question I need clarification on. If a character can feasibly attack 4 times in a round, -can- they, or are they still limited to 3 attacks? If they can, does that fourth attack take a -15? I would presume so, considering +0, -5, -10.

To be more specific, I've built a ranger, with Twin Takedown. For 1 Action, I can make two Strikes, multiple attack penalty applied accordingly. So, if I start my turn next to an enemy, can I use Twin Takedown for 2 strikes, and then use each of my other Actions for an additional strike (4 total)?

Yes, you can do as many Strikes as you can. The MAP stops at -10. So, it'll be 0, -5, -10, -10, etc...

MAP maxes at -10, regardless of how many attacks taken after the second.

"The more attacks you make beyond your first in a single turn, the less accurate you become, represented by the multiple attack penalty. The second time you use an attack action during your turn, you take a –5 penalty to your attack roll. The third time you attack, and on any subsequent attacks, you take a –10 penalty to your attack roll."

So, in your example, if your Hunters Edge was Flurry and your second weapon was Agile, your four attacks would be +0, -2, -4, -4. (Assuming all followup attacks from an Agile weapon). If a friendly Wizard or Druid cast Haste on you, the fifth attack would still only be -4.

Monks can often attack 4 times.

Yes, and if you're quickened you can make a fifth attack.

Awesome, thank you all for your help/input. I appreciate it.

Yes, and if you're quickened you can make a fifth attack.

This becomes a far less academic question one you include impossible flurry.

That is a TWF style feat that gives you 3 attackes per weapon (6 attacks total), but all attacks are treated as if they were the 3rd+ attack, with maximum MAP. So this lets you see what an 8th attack would look like.

....of course, that feat comes just a level after flurry edge rangers upgrade to the point that the maximum attack penalty is -2 with agile weapons. So they hit for -2/-2/-2/-2/-2/-2.
