So a few years ago (man, has it really been that long?) I made a few starships from the Star trek series using the starship creation rules. They weren't perfect matchs, but it was a fun exercize. In case you missed it, here they are:
Federation ships
Non-Federation ships
I was thinking about getting back into it with a few more ships from popular culture outside of Star Trek, just for funzies (though I'll try to make them actual starship stats so that people can use them in their games.) The problem is, that while I'm a huge Star Trek nerd, I'm less knowledgeable about other Sci-Fi series. So anyone have any starships they'd like to see from NON-Start Trek sources?
This is what I have so far:
Non-Star Trek ships from popular culture

I think the Cowboy Bebop and the Outlaw Star are good things to look into. The Outlaw Star comes with a rather unique issue, however. It has robotic arms built for grappling other ships. Now I can dream that we get this in the upcoming book, but for now it is a dream. The Cowboy Bebop is rather easy on the other hand.

The problem with the Beebop is the same problem I keep running into all the time with Starfinder ship designs. To house a landing bay (such as the three fighter craft the Bebop has), requires a huge or larger ship, which in turn requires more than two people to fly (minimum number we see flying the beebop.). Rules just don’t support it. Also: Despite being an anime nerd, I’m embarrassed to say I never watched Outlaw Star.
You nailed it! Great job and thank you!
You are welcome, happy I got it right!

Updated with the Serenity (Firefly) and the Normandy (Mass Effect 1), and the Milano (MCU)
If anyone else has any ships they would like, I'll see if they are buildable in the system (like I said, the Bebop just isn't the way the Starship rules are written.
I'm looking for, a ship that is roughly Tier 7 in power. Most of the ones I can think of are small fry (Eagle One, TIE Fighters, VIPERs) or giant behemoths (SG-1's Prometheus, The Suloco, ETC.)

Updated with the tier 8 Raza (Dark Matter) though I had to make FOUR special rules to get the ship to do what it does in the show. I tried looking up information about the Rocinante (from the Expanse) but I couldn't get great information about the ship's technical specifications. I found a great website explaining Space 1999, but the Expanse wiki leaves a lot to be desired.
If anyone has any more ideas, let me know. I'd love to get ships going all the way from 1/4 to 20

Well, there's plenty more to add if you can find the specs:
NSEA Protector (Galaxy Quest)
SDF-1 Macross (Macross/Robotech)
Andromeda Ascendant (Andromeda series)
UNSC Infinity ('Halo' series)
TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimension In Space) (Dr. Who)
USS Discovery One (Space Odyssey series)
Daedalus (Stargate SG-1)
O'Neill-class Asgard Ship (Stargate SG-1)
District 9 Space ship (District 9)
USS Cygnus (Black Hole)
Mimbari Cruiser (Babylon 5)
You can draw heavily from Babylon 5 (lots of ships there) and more from Stargate SG-1 (I just listed a few samples above). Apologies if anything is a repeat or already added.

When I get a bit of free time I plan to do the Daedalus. Good call on the Discovery 1, I could do a decent rendition of that, I think. The TARDIS is more of a plot device than an actual ship, and I think the MACROSS is just too damn big to stat up (goes beyond a tier 20 ship). I’ll look into the NSEA Protector and Andromeda, but I haven’t watched the Andromeda series so it’ll be up to how much info I can find out about it online, same with the Infinity. Thanks for the suggestions!

The MACROSS I've seen on the web was only around 1,200 meters long, which is lower end gargantuan. Am I looking up the wrong ship?

Super Dimension Fortress MACROSS (the one from the first MACROSS made in the 70s) was a mobile space fortress with multiple docked CARRIER ships, 120 drone fighter/bombers, and was the size of a city with literally thousands of people on board, oh, yeah, and it turned into a mecha

Corsair17 wrote:The White Stars were small, fully equipped starships with a crew of roughly 10-20. Combat capable, so I'm sure there was a Medbay, no mention of being able to actually carry any other ships.According to the wiki, they house 4 fighters.
Added a few more, trying to round out the tier list (looking to go from 1/4 all the way to 20 without repeating franchises)
Added:
Discovery One (2001 a Space Odyssey) Tier 1/3
The Interdictor (Grrl Power Webcomic) Tier 9
The White Star Class (Babalon 5) Tier 11
The Daedalus (Stargate Franchise) Tier 15

The finalized version of the Whitestar had a crew of 50 and carried 4 fighters. But it went through a few changes as the plot demanded changes to its capabilities. So it should have a medbay, but it had dorm style sleeping areas instead of individual rooms. Although due to Minbari superstition, the beds were at a 45 degree angle instead of being flat. Obviously not nessicary for this effort, but still a fun fact.

Thanks for the info. !Starfinder Whitestar is a cruiser, so it has a crew compliment of 20-100 (so 50 checks out). Sadly, to get a hanger bay (to house up to 8 fighters) you'd need a larger gargantuan ship, like a carrier, which are slower and harder to maneuver. I did include a shuttle bay which can house a single shuttle (small size) but I could see the argument that you could fit four tiny fighters into a shuttle bay instead of one small sized shuttle.
The rooms are 'common' on the White dwarf, so nothing to write home about, clean dorm-style sleeping makes sense for that.
I'm glad people are diggin on these statblocks. I need some higher tier ships to round out the list from different franchises though.
EDIT: Also added the Heart of Gold from Hitchhiker's Guide.

I think the thing to remember is that, in Starfinder, a "fighter" is still an interstellar-capable ship with long endurance, an FTL engine, and the potential to mount weapons able to effect ships much bigger than it. Its best analog is something like the X-Wing in Star Wars.
A lot of setting with ubiquitous fighters are not this. Their fighters are vastly shorter range, lacking in FTL and only able to operate a limited distance from their base or carrier ( possibly less even than a full planetary range ), and possessing weapons and armor full magnitudes weaker than that of "proper" space ships ( analogous to the ship vs vehicle divide in Starfinder ).
Basically, Starfinder hangars are limited because Starfinder fighters are full independent ships, not just deployable tools/weapons of their carrying ship/base.

Even if you don't mount a Drift Drive, you still *can*. . . and your slower than light engines still allow you to fly anywhere in an entire solar system in reasonably short order. That's still not really analogous to a fighter jet limited to 200 miles from base without midair refueling.
Also, there's a reason I gave X-Wings as an example of what Starfinder was using as a baseline. They are one ( well, two ) man starships capable of flying anywhere in the galaxy and getting into fights with pretty much anything smaller than an ISD and standing goods odds of being effective when properly piloted/deployed.
