Playtest Boons

Why did they increase the wayfinder price by an accumulative +2 for each purchase? I started at 8 points to spend, now I will have 2 worthless points left over after purchasing the next boon. Also, wayfinders aren't overpowered.

It was a decision made to make the costs go up as you buy the same item again. I agree with frankly.

It would be nice if this was communicated better. There was a comment about it happening in a blog post.

Hope we will be able to convert the play test points into achievement points at some point.

The blog said that some would have increasing costs. I was surprised to find the Wayfinder was one of those since it's the most iconic Pathfinder Society thing there is. If there's one that doesn't rise in cost, I don't know which it is/they are.

No, that sceanrio does not give you an actual Wayfinder, though players can buy one after their first sceanrio (most should give 4 Fame)

That is a normal boon literally every character can buy.

Regarding the increasing cost, I am not super happy with that myself, I had planned to buy several levels 2 characters, but now I will just wait a bit and buy a level 3 for some of my points.

It seems silly that the Playtest Wayfinder would go up in cost when the one you purchase with fame stays constant. I decided to purchase mine with fame because Playtest Points don't replenish. I hope they revisit this cost at some point.

Actually, I haven't gotten around to spending any of my 60 playtest points. Because I am unsure of how much costs will go up (it's not transparent on the site) I have been hoarding them like dragon instead of putting them to use.

They added information about how much the prices are supposed to increase, but it doesn't match match how much they actually increase.

Yep. And that is a good part of the reason that I am not spending my Playtest points. I don't feel comfortable making purchases without more accurate information handy. Eventually, I'll spend them, but for now I'll wait!

I'm in the same boat. Waiting to see the text on the boons before I make my choice. I'm tempted to just go level 3 and see how high level of a PC I can have by next con season, but I tend to drift toward more flavorful boons and excavating the tower looks intriguing...

I just hope they don't expire, as they've been having a lot of other things happen lately (I'm looking at you 'store vouchers' and 'limited time rebuilds').

As it may be close to two years before I can actually play a race I'm interested in, I'd love to see those still viable at that point...

No sheet this time. It's just linked to your character's account.

Which, as of now, no other GM can really access.

I suggest taking a screenshot (that's what I've done) so you have a physical record.

I imagine that someday in the distant future of Starfinder 2 and Pathfinder 3 it'll all come together nicely.

Its the fourth one in the list for me. I was going to say maybe it only shows up if you report that chapter from the Playtest, but there's some PFS playtest scenarios I didn't run/play that I see related boons for, so who knows?
