Okay, so when you play again, you can collect the shards (or keys, as they are called). One can be gotten at a rest site, one at a chest, and one by beating an elite (one per level, the symbol is different-kind of firey). If you have all three keys/shards when you beat the third boss, you go to the fourth level. That level consists of one rest site, one shop, an elite fight (which is always the same), and the true final boss (the Heart of the Spire). Beating the Heart with each character is an achievement.

Oh ok cool. So that's how to actually beat it instead of "Victory?"

Everyone is already checked in here and we are at like 20% occ. I guess slow season has started.

Pretty much. But there is a suggestion that there might be more to come. Maybe in a sequel or expansion? Or I'm misreading things.

Ooo I hope they do a sequel. I've been enjoying this game.

Expansion actually. That would be better.

Sigh I haven't touched slay the spire for ages. Setting my eyes on Spartan sprint, I think my upper body strength is lacking though. And I really need to work on deadhanging more.

It was really strange. Before I did Hiits last Friday, I couldn't get anywhere on the monkey bars(I'm not surprised, I su*k at them). But after the Hiits session, I clumsily swung myself across. Weeiiirrrdddd.

I thought Spartan sprint was a video game at first...

I think it's suppose to be pretty average for women to have an easier time with lower body then upper body and men to be the reverse for the most part anyways.

Scarab Sages

Cutting out the sugar has been working real well for my weight loss so far

The Exchange

Yeah my aunt found it that way too. And my BF just went to drink a starbucks iced chocolate ><

Also, I ate a doughnut when I was passed one while talking on the phone.

That helps me too, but sometimes the physical safety of those around me demands I be propitiated with a sugary treat or two.

Edit: How did my two posts switch places?

Thomas, why don't you tell us what sauces and spices there are in your kitchen so I can get more creative? I'm trying to work with as basic stuff as possible.
Maybe we have overwhelmed him with options.

Sort of. Mostly I was overwhelmed by work and the fact that while I do have SOME ingredients (such as cumin, salt, paprika, cinnamon to name a few) I STILL feel overwhelmed by the fact I just can't plan out stuff well in advance until I've had more sleep.

Which fortunately today I did. So now we'll see.

The Exchange

Use Paprika to substitute for any recipes I call for chilli powder and if you do not have soya sauce, then just work with salt. You'll need a shopping trip to get all the vegetables I mentioned since I doubt that ANYONE would stock their fridge with that many vegetables. Alternatively tell us what stuff other then beef you have in your house and I can try to come up with something.

The Exchange

Cinnamon imo is more for sweet stuff(unless you're doing it in a roast), and cumin needs to be used carefully, preferably with beans/curry. Problem with beans is the overnight soaking time period and the 4h stewing. I prefer lentils, they cook in 20 min.

So I did a stupid...

Not in the sense spending more than 60 dollars on frozen entrees, frozen dinners and some shrimp (Jambalaya will be in my future!) But stupid in the sense I heated up a Hungry Man thing...and didn't realize "Gee just because it doesn't FEEL hot on the outside of the brownie doesn't mean it's not BLAZING hot inside it!!"

So now I have throat burn. :P But plus side, I can still breathe, swallow and make saliva...so there's that.

Yeah. That's a hard lesson to learn. I screwed up with some Totino's Pizza Rolls the other day and did much the same thing.

Well fortunately I think the fact I'll have this linger with me for a while...will keep that in mine. Also I'll stop getting frozen dinners... I mean at least the ones you have to microwave anyway...

o0p$.

I signed up for this:

I read about last years downtown Spartan.

I think inverted monkey bars may be an issue, I don't know how well I can climb over chest high obstacles and no I haven't climbed more then 1.5m up a rope but I suppose if I screw up its 60 burpees ><

I should be able to carry 40 lbs on my shoulder and go around with it, though I've never tried - my gym farmer's walk is at 12 kg in each hand, for 1 min.

Meanwhile I'm having butterflies in my tummy going what have I gotten myself into!! =P

Again if I don't try the obstacles for myself I will not know the areas I need to work on...

I got a lip burn from a yam pie. Too eager to bite into its hot pimping contents. But yes, cooking in should be cheaper then buying frozen microwave dinners.

It's done that to me sometimes too.

You can throw most frozen dinner in the oven too they taste better but take like 5 times as long. But you don't have to worry about the frozen outside molten lava inside.

You could probably build a sentient rabbit with unlimited power through some hole in 3.5's rules just as easily as a kobold.

Scarab Sages

I found that when I was a student, with less cash/motivation to cook, having a freezer worked wonders. I would make big batches of things, and freeze them into portions.
Pasta sauce.
Curry.
Stew.
Soup.

Just decide the evening before what you want, take it out of the freezer to thaw in the fridge.
Then when you get home, cook your rice/pasta/potatoes and heat up the stuff from the fridge.

The Exchange

Sigh. Both my mom and I bought zucchini at the same time and now she's pissed off with me not appreciating her efforts and her having to go to the store to get a refund for the zucchini.

The problem is she sent me the text message when I was out there running, so obviously I didn't see it, then I did not check my phone as I was talking to the other runners and I don't check my phone so I don't get distracted when I have things to do. She complains if I am glued to my phone all the time but if she sends me stuff and I don't react till 2 h later she doesn't seem happy. Double standards?

Is not checking your phone until 30 min after a run because you had things to do wrong?

Just a Mort wrote:

Nope. Not wrong. However, in her defense, expectations had been previously set because you used to be absolutely glued to your phone. She just hasn't adjusted to the changes you've been making in your own life.

This sort of thing is just going to happen occasionally, and it has nothing to do with who's right and who's wrong. Happens with Aiymi and I quite a bit during the day just due to the nature of our jobs.

The Exchange

I have been studying the obstacles and will probably have to use this hack to get over the bender since my pull up attempts are a tad iffy.

So while I haven't done microwave meals tonight, I DID do frozen entree you can do in a stir fry pan. It turned out better but because of how bad I burned myself AND the fact my refrigator's ice maker is on the fritz. (The freezer itself seems fine...just no ice) I ended up having more water than I like and probably under cooking a little another one.

But at least now, my adventures in microwaving will be more limited.

Also I ripped a callus on monkey bars yesterday so I'm like geez, I guess I get to read up on fingertip pushups><

Gah.

Well I didn't do that but I DID forget I was supposed to check on a cat for a member of our church who is out road tripping until the end of the month....

Fortunately it was only three days... *eyeroll* Not checking on the cat I mean...And when I did, everything was fine. Also I let it outside since it's an indoor/outdoor cat.

Fortunately, cats are more self-sufficient than dogs and aren't prone to wrecking a place if left alone too long.

That and they apparently don't mind not peeing all over the place. I mean I think this one didn't. I didn't smell any urine...and the litter box was available I think...

Did you have to go back and let it in after a while since it's an indoor/outdoor cat?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I do...but I was told via 'fact sheet" that he prefers night time roaming. Considering I didn't let him out until this afternoon, I figure I can let him roam until tomorrow morning.

My BF used to house stray cats and after they're potty trained, they can be generally left to their own business. Cats actually like it that way.

Anyway I tried doing on my knees, nada that didn't work out. So I did it on the wall instead. Better then getting nothing done at all and being a wimp cos I ripped a callus.

That makes me hurt just reading it.

Same happened to my cats when I went on a two-week vacation a few years back, my mom forgot to go by and check on them for a couple days. They were perfectly fine, if a little annoyed that their food bowls were empty; still had water, still had litterbox, no other trouble.

I do have a story about a dog that was forgotten about for nearly two weeks, though. A friend called my roommate and said he was supposed to watch another person's dog but forgot and left town. We got there and thought the dog was dead until it moved. It was nursed back to health slowly by the local humane society and when the owner came to claim they refused him. The dog was adopted out to another person and as far as I know, lived a happy life.

I like to teach people that I'm not at their beck and call so occasionally I let calls go then call them back some time later even when I'm not busy. This dissolves their expectations that they can call me whenever they want and expect me to answer. Don't worry folks every psych grad condition people around them one way or another.

Well our snake still hasn't ate and we got him in April. The rat and gecko's are doing well anyways. The snake hasn't lost any weight so he's fine he's just on a hunger strike :P.
