Hello one hello all, I've recently come apon an interesting Concept...
Now, I personally have no experience with Sigil or Planescape- But I have recently heard of the dimension known as the outlands and the City inside known as Sigil. Now I'm the kind of person who if something interests me.. I get really into it.
The idea of Sigil, The Lady of pain, and many of the concepts about this world caught me like a hook as soon as I heard of them.
Now, I do understand that Planescape in a sense has infinite potential for any race, From any settting, from any background due to Planescape's nature..
I'm aware the original Planescape was made for AD&D- unfortunately I have no idea how to Play AD&D- But things are pretty easy to convert and Homebrew if your smart enough and familiar with a system. This Probably means if I'm gonna do something like this it will be in Pathfinder...
For now this is Just an interest Check and a way we can establish What rules we are gonna use as well as Rulings on Cutsom races, or races from Specific settings. I'll consider making this a game if I gather enough interest. Other than that I have no real ideas for story so far- however with some help from friends of mine as well as some good old Homebrew- we can find something to do ;P

Might be interested depending on the direction you take. Honestly I feel like these boards could use some more GMs and recruitments.
I would be open to 3.5 or 3.p. 3pp materials do not bother me as a player, but I generally avoid them as a GM...alot of them are not very well balanced and just wacky.
With it being planescape, where anything goes...you could do something fun where the player is the character...
Have us take a set of those surveys for what is your race/class/ability scores and we are transported to Sigil as our innerselves and given strange powers and abilities.
Just a thought.

Heh, Well Planescape is a very very open setting. Pretty much anything exist because everything is Infinite and infinity breeds infinite potential. I would preffer to use Pathfinder with people asking of a Certain race is allowed or not-
And I'd allow custom races with 15RP the limit- as well as having to explain the origins and inspiration for the race... I won't let you just make an optimized race :P

Well ultimately- Like the rule of 3- the game is made of 3 things: The Fluff, The Mechanics, and the Players.
Planescape is very heavy in fluff, and doesn't stray far from D&D in Mechanics. Ultimately the fluff and players are the most important parts- with little need to adapt systems to the setting as any system works pretty well... So long as it's D&D related.
I'm probably gonna allow Custom races now that I've thought of it- As well as our forward some I've adapted myself from D&D into Pathfinder.
And I'm gonna separate my players into either Plainers or Primes. The game will focus mostly on RP- since a majority of the mosnters you would normally be utterly destroyed by are just lounging about Sigil having casual conversations with outsiders.
I'm probably gonna start you guys off at around lvl 5 as that level gives you enough power to not have to worry about being squished by small buggers while still limiting your power to an acceptable level. I probably won't go too high level- after all at some point your gonna start drawing the attention of some less than savory Plainers.
The game will definitely not be going to the prime material plane- unless I feel the need to have someone summon one of your party :P
Other than that- Story size I feel like this is gonna be a little freeform and I'd like your characters to be like minded, or at least team players.

I'd definitely be interested in playing- Sigil/Planescape has always been super interesting to me but I've never been able to play a game in the setting! Definitely want to play it in pathfinder, probably- I don't mind 3pp but I'd prefer none of the spheres/etc. stuff just because I always see that powergame out of control and it honestly makes it unfun to be a player around the systems.

Right oh, I don't typically do spheres of power/might- despite my players begging me to allow it. I do thing Automatic Bonus Progression is gonna apply here, because magic items are pretty common when walking the planes most of them will be Unique items or Wonderous items- giving you a little extra atop The basics.
Other than that I think I'll put an Official Recruitment up once I've pounded out the dents and details in character creation :P

I'd be very interested in this! Off the top of my head, I'd be interested in a Voyager, published by Dreamscarred Press, a class that, depending on flavor attributed to it (and especially given what I'd be going for) would make for an interesting interplanar traveller, I think, getting help from extradimensional selves and such.
Role-wise, Voyager kinda fills the space of a frontline combatant, but is much more generally focused around skirmishing, popping in and out of combat.

I'm interested, if a little late to the party. I know a little about Sigil and the Lady of Pain. As far as the fluff goes, are we going to use Pathfinder's cosmology or the cosmology from the Manual of the Planes?
The manual- The setting will be the D&D cosmotology- Infact worlds Like Toril(Forgotten realms), Eberron, Athas(Dark Sun), and Ravenloft will be allowed to be origins- As all of those worlds have been confirmed to be the same continuity.
I'll have special rules for specific conversions of races from those settings... You should see the official recruitment up soon
