Efficient quiver / quiver of recall: do i REALLY need them?

Rules Questions

Scarab Sages

So, my question is simple: is there any point in buying one of these?
I mean, why shouldn't i just carry 6 normal quivers instead (if i only need arrows to be carried)? Just for the weight or am i missing something?
I didn't find any rule that says i can only carry one quiver, so...?

A lot of people are going to explain how wearing multiple quivers is highly impractical

Scarab Sages

Well, i don't really care unless they bring rules too, firing 6 arrows in 6 seconds (and 2 at the same time) is higly impractical too.
This is a game, not reality.

There is no point for them.

RAW mechanics the value is weight saving.

Grand Lodge

Expect some DM variation though.

I'd say in addition to the saving weight it will rapidly end any discussion or argument that I did indeed grab my one and only +5 Arrow of Demon Slaying and not one of several dozen other arrows or similarly size objects packed into one of potentially several quivers I'm carting around.

Mainly the weight issue.
Which may not matter for most folks. But. if you've got a game where you're often traveling and cant resupply arrows that easily. it is quite a strong advantage.

Also!
I believe you can effectively "choose" the arrrow on command. I.e. You could put 100 fire arrows, 100 acid arrows 100 tanglefoot arrows, and 100 durable arrows, along with random magical bane arrows.

you have all of them at your finger tips.

Also. some GM's allow "things that are not X items but are similiar shapes " to work.
So I've kept tools (shovels etc), sunrods, wands, and such in it as well. Because the item itself explicitly mentions genreal size and shapes, and lists quite a variety of examples.

EFFICIENT QUIVER

Aura moderate conjuration; CL 9th

Slot none; Price 1,800 gp; Weight 2 lbs.

DESCRIPTION

This appears to be a typical arrow container capable of holding about 20 arrows. It has three distinct portions, each with a nondimensional space allowing it to store far more than would normally be possible. The first and smallest one can contain up to 60 objects of the same general size and shape as an arrow. The second slightly longer compartment holds up to 18 objects of the same general size and shape as a javelin. The third and longest portion of the case contains as many as 6 objects of the same general size and shape as a bow (spears, staves, or the like). Once the owner has filled it, the quiver can quickly produce any item she wishes that is within the quiver, as if from a regular quiver or scabbard. The efficient quiver weighs the same no matter what's placed inside it.

CONSTRUCTION

Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, secret chest; Cost 900 gp

It can only hold 60 arrows, but yes if you have 60 different arrows within you could pull the arrow(s) you wish as part of your Attack(s). So need a silver arrow for the Werewolf, then a cold iron for the fey creature and then a adamantine one for the golem. No problem even if you only have a few of each type in the quiver. At least that is how I've always seen it played including in public settings similar to PFS play

It's a slotless magic item with a very easy price tag for your dedicated archer build. While it can be argued it gives relatively little mechanical benefit, in light of its cost, slotless quality, and weight saved there's very little reason for an archer build to not be using one.
