Saw it, loved it. But I do have a concern.

I really don't like the level of avengers/tony stark/nick fury level of involvement in spidermans life. Under the mask spideys always been a street level regular person and trying to be a superhero kind of messes with their life. Having the nick fury/avengers/ironman on speeddial at his fingertips takes away from that a fair bit.

I'm fine with this given we've had so many Spiderman movies with him as that street level guy. Now that we can have huge crossovers with more of the Marvel universe I think it makes sense to make those movies even if we don't get to see that struggling fly-by-night hero as much. (Homecoming was a good blend of both, I think.)

It was so good. Mysterio was flawless.
I was going to say that the best scene was Peter and Happy on the jet (my husband was tearing up), but then the mid-credits scene came along. I am so psyched that they got [REDACTED] to come back! (And so so very happy I avoided spoilers this week.)
Very good movie. Mysterio was great.
Post credit scene 1: I don't think that will turn out to have been a nightmare, but I confess I don't know where they're going with it. Also, I liked the bookends here:
Post credit scene 2: As is so often the case, LOTS of people left before this scene came up. Gotta wonder exactly which upcoming movie(s) this will tie into, and how confused those people are going to be, not having seen it. Ah, by then the scene will have been discussed to death online, so they'll probably be okay.

The obvious solution to this is of course arrange for Parker and Spiderman to be seen in the same place at the same time. If only the MCU had some friendly shapeshifters who could pull that off...

Well... they are.
Mysterio was great- the two Marvel-affiliated Spidey movies have both managed to avoid the Marvel Movie Villain curse
Glad we spent as long as we did pretending Mysterio was a good guy- even knowing what you do as a comics fan, it lets you feel some of the betrayal Peter does.
Mysterio's revenge from the grave sure seems nasty, but then again... Peter has EDITH. He can do all KINDS of damage control with that sucker, once he calms down enough to remember it.
Loved the Skrull scene because Talos was one of the best parts of Captain Marvel. Wonder where the real Maria Hill is. Also wonder how long Fury has been in space.
LOVED the whole multiverse thing being essentially a joke within this movie.

On my highschool trip to france we stopped at a castle and there was this wall of pole arms. Tour guide was sorry she didn't know the name of them in english.. (ahah.. the moment i'd been training for since i was 12..) but most of them have the same name in english and french.
Maybe they will ditch Peter's secret ID thing. I saw a post on another site saying that very few characters have anything like a secret ID and it was 'amazing' that Peter kept his for so long.

In fact, he's clearly pretty bad at the secret I.D. thing, if May and MJ are anything to go on...
Still, part of the charm of his films has been the balance of "Spider-Man, superhero" with "Peter Parker, young kid who wants to do normal young kid stuff," so it'll be interesting to see where this goes.
I remember two where civilians learned. 'The Boy Who Read Spider-Man' and another one that had a fellow who was wheelchair bound and difficulty speaking. Spider-Man saved the wheelchair guy from getting eaten by a vampire and then showed his face.

If he was actually an unknown, put the photo of Spider-man with his mask off up on Twitter and somebody will id it quickly enough.
Well, It's not really a photo of him, unless you can hook your brain up to a computer. You'd be doing a police sketch or something and well.. google newscaster looks like suspect it's pretty funny.
Funny enough for the Asian market They love that awkward teenage cringe stuff. I agree however it is hard to watch but also pretty accurate representation.

So I've been watching Agents of Shield on the Netflix the last few weeks, and it had me thinking about JJJ's doxing of Spiderman and Mysterio's whole dead-man's switch endgame against Peter.
Assuming AoS takes place in a universe where the MCU also takes place (which is ostensibly not the same universe *as* the MCU universe, convoluted handwavium canon be damned), we have a world where, by the time that Infinity War takes place, has had both a high profile Agent be publicly labeled a straight up terrorist before going "She was in deep cover, LOL. That bridge had it coming anyway!", and a high ranking government official be attempted assassinated by a literal replicant (sorry, Life Model Decoy). A world where national Cable News is constantly pontificating about a shadow government organization (and its magically/alien powered members) that does pretty much anything it wants.
JJJ may have the Blaze tier spin machine turned on, but beyond the easy stuff like having a Skrull be Peter in public (or the it will probably happen Clone Saga MCU take to cover pete), Shield, AEGIS, not-Avengers, or whatever agency Fury & Talos are working in, can spin up its own epic level counter spin just as easily. Even if Peter's Sokovia Accords information leaks (assuming hypocrite Tony even made him sign up {unlikely}), the good guys have just as much means to spin it the other way.
AoS has gone out of its way during its run to show how much misinformation (deliberate or otherwise) that the masses gets in an 'enhanced' world, its not too far of a stretch for Peter to just be the next in line on the international fake-news machine.

Unfortunately Feige seems to dislike the TV franchises so will never, ever take something from them for the movies. Plus, as we just learned, the next Spiderman movie may very well be completely Shield, Skrull and Avengers-free.
To be brutally honest, if Sony and Disney don't come back together, the next Spiderman will probably be animated and/or a complete reboot again, and crossover with Venom on top.
He doesn't dislike them, tv franchises are under Ike Perlmutter's control and Feige wants nothing to do with Perlmutter and won't permit him to have a say in anything.

So what you're saying is if Ike Perlmutter were to have an unfortunate accident, then Feige would have greater control?
Summer was really busy, and I kinda burned out on Marvel for a while. Finally got around to watching it and I liked it a lot.
I do feel smart for predicting the overall content of the end credits scene.

He is already no longer the CEO of Marvel Comics, so there is no need for an accident^^. Feige just needed to threaten to quit to get Perlmutter out of the movie descisions and now he has even less power.
Perhaps with Perlmutter out of the picture perhaps we will get more of a crossover between TV and the movies.

Unless you have non-public information, I don't think they've said anything about re-casting or using the same actors. Some will certainly be re-cast, since with the 2 year waiting period after Netflix cancellation, the actors won't be available, but some will and potentially will be willing to reprise their roles. Vincent D'onofrio has made it clear he's not done playing Kingpin if at all possible. And even with Mike Coulter staring in a new show on CBS (Evil) 2 years is plenty of time for the show to be cancelled, so who knows. And that's assuming Marvel even has plans for Luke Cage in 2 years, rather than further out.
The fact that Sony brought back J.K. Simmonds as JJ Jameson from Spiderman V1 to Spiderman V3 shows there's certainly precedent of actors reprising roles from prior versions.
I even heard that the actor who played kingpin may be kept for more kingpin action.

Yeah D'Onofrio is a great character actor. His Kingpin is pretty awesome.
I also heard a rumor that they're seriously considering keeping Bernathal for Frank Castle/Punisher. Which I think is solid. We'll see about Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Jessica Jones. Though if they recast Danny, I wouldn't be that upset... But they'd better DAMN sure keep the Daughters of the Dragon! Simone Missick and Jessica Henwick are truly the best casting I've seen for those two.
Best Punisher yet. I did like the guy who was also in The mist. but Man Bernathals "I will beat your head in with a brick" angry face is just too good.

That was Jane Thomas. He was good too, but I preferred him as a kind "quiet man" punisher. Bernathal's is the angry disturbed Punisher we all know.

I really hope they crossover with Venom, as I really like that movie.
On an unrelated matter, I also love the X-Men First Class movies, and I don't think the MCU would be able to do a better job than that. I'm hoping X-Men don't end up in the MCU...
