My theory is they all moved to Daimalko.

They're not only still around you fight some of them in spaceship combat

Which ones?

I wonder if that is where they originally came from.

In Pathfinder the Kaiju were spawn of Rovagug iirc.

No the spawn of Rovagug are a different thing (the tarrasque being the best known example). I also wonder why anyone would choose to live on Daimalko if kaiju are a constant threat (unless there's something REALLY valuable there.)

Well, they didn’t choose to live somewhere with giant rampaging monsters. They erupted from under the oceans during a cataclysm. The damage they wrought crippled the native population’s civilization before they could achieve easy space flight.

I when I read about Daimalko, I wondered why someone have'nt just blasted the giant things from orbit. Kaiju are big targets after all.

The kaiju of Golarion were each unique individual creatures. The colossi of Daimalko are a selection of species; there's more than one kyokor but there's only one King Mogaru.

The colossi are also seemingly less powerful than the kaiju - comparing power evels from two different systems, even two related ones like this, may be folly, but the kaiju were still mythic level threats where as the colossi are not, though given that Paizo seems to regard the mythic system as something of a failed experiment they might stat up the kaiju as CR 20 creatures in SF if they ever did decide to convert them.

All the same I get the impression that colossi are individually less powerful than the kaiju of Golarion were/are, but make up for it with having greater numbers & significantly wider ranges.

They could be weaker or they are rebalanced into more reasonable/usable encounters. All dragons in Starfinder are more powerful than Pathfinder dragons CR wise, but maybe they also wanted to change the pecking order and not necessarily implying the CR change is a setting condition.

The kaiju Yarthoon from Bestiary 6 now apparently lives on a moon of Bretheda.

The Daimalko government, such as it is, is at least somewhat skeptical of interstellar contact at *all*, as there is a significant belief that it could trigger a second Awakening. I can't imagine they would look happily at people applying orbital bombardment to their planet.

Old Daimalko with one leg

"Don't nuke it from orbit. You'll just make it angry boy "

Alright then, bring the ship within the planets atmosphere, go reaaaal close, THEN blast them in the face. The Damai all live underground, they don't have to know ;)

And Kaiju bits are probably worth a lot of money, someone might already be doing this illegaly "looking at you Drow corps", sending in fighters and harvesting monster parts.

Going off of the Kyokor's background, they are described as being too tough and powerful for nearly anyone to attack head on. It's only rumored that specialists exist that are capable of killing them. The armor made from Kyokors presented in the alien archive is crafted from their carapace after they shed. So sending in fighters after one would probably just result in casualties.

They probably can fight back, even if the target is off-planet.

If we look at the Kyokor, we can see that they have no ranged attacks, all we need to do in order to kill it is have something that flies to stay outside its reach. It would have no chance to survive starship weaponry at all. Of course, there might be monsters on the planet with supervision and weaponry capable of destroying starships in orbit, if something like that stomps around then yeah, stay away!

Speaking of kaiju and other big monsters, I think they should make a creature so huge it's colossal even by spaceship standards. Like a mile tall kaiju maybe.

Just grab some mountains or boulders and toss it up - going by the AP, starships are very vulnerable to rocks, they even bypass shields.

They would have to throw it hard enough it achieved escape velocity (about 25000 mph assuming an Earth sized planet), which is hard for me to swallow even given how strong most Kaiju are.

The basic answer: Yes. Lore-wise Golarion still exists, thus Golarion's kaiju still exist until otherwise stated as being dead/defeated.

As Golarion is missing though, unless a resource reports one as having left Golarion before/during the Gap it is likely still there, and missing with it.

Considering how many of Toho's kaiju came from space- Gigan, several versions of Ghidorah including the original, Spacegodzilla (Yes. Really.), the Showa series Mechagodzilla, the original Moguera from The Mysterians, Hedorah, Dogora, Orga.... and so on?

Moving beyond just Toho...

Considering that Godzilla and Rodan have been to space at least once (Godzilla vs. Monster Zero), and that Gamera flew into space all the time? That countless kaiju from several studios (including off-brand fare like Guilala) either come from space or go to space?

Yeah, they're probably around, and might well put in an appearance.

Just picture it, another day on Daimalko... and then Varklops shows up.

Agmazar at least we know originated on Verces. Always the chance that there's another Agmazar that got built but never deployed still resting somewhere in Fullbright or Darkside.
