*Possible spoilers for Rise of the Runelords*
Hey, all. Looking for some advice/discussion how how to become immortal via non-undead arcane means.
Playing a NG Human/Varisian Arcanist in Rise of the Runelords, and we're only halfway through Book 2. After coming across the failed lich at Misgivings, he's beginning to wonder if there is a way to gain immortality without becoming some sort of undead. He's well read concerning Thassilon, and is wondering how the Runelords could have lived as long as history suggests.
As a player, I'm looking for possible ways that could be fun for role-play on how he can gain immortality without becoming undead -and that don't exceed Paizo official material.
I realized that the Arcane Discovery Immortality is Wizard only, so that's out, and the best I've found is as follows: a demiplane that stops aging, clone spell, and magic jar -so his real body stays in the plane while clones keep going out into the world.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I wouldn't let Wizard only stop you from getting Arcane Discovery Immortality.
I would also let you use the Wish spell to make yourself younger. I just haven't given much thought as to how much you can do with a single wish and living forever.
I know that you asked for official Pathfinder material, but I don't know anything you didn't already cover.

...there are several methods that actually get thrown at you during the RotRL AP. You do not want to use any of them yourself, but it is something to look forward to I suppose.
Cyclic Reincarnation is one of the cleanest methods to achieve semi-immortality. This does require you to make friends with something that can cast a 6th level druid spell. To achieve this with arcane magic it would require a Wish, and a properly worded wish would let you gain the effects of Cyclic Reincarnation without actually dying.
Or you could use Limited Wish to mimic the 3rd level spell Reincarnate. Good luck with that...

The easiest way is to become mythic. Longevity only requires one mythic Tier.
Other than that, there’s a few artifacts that give you immortality, but that’s about it. You can buy the sun orchard elixir when it comes up for auction, but that only resets your age; you immediately start aging again.
Cyclic reincarnation is the way that would require the least amount of “personalization” for your specific circumstances. Just take Leadership and have a druid cohort. For bonus points, leave the cohort somewhere safe and use some form of contingency / teleport combination to get your body to the druid immediately upon death. For bonus bonus points, take the Magaambyan Arcanist prestige class so you can learn the spell yourself return the favor for your druid friend.

Which reminds me that in 1st Edition AD&D (and I presume 2nd Edition), casting Limited Wish or Wish aged you (as did some other critical spells, notably Restoration and Resurrection, as well as the Illusionist Wish substitute Alter Reality). But this problem seems to have gone away as of D&D 3.0 (although in 3.0 and 3.5 you had to pay with XP, but at least you could slowly get that back through continued death vagrancy).

Yes. In second edition, spells like Wish would age you with every use. I'm glad they changed that.
In second edition, there were things like magic potions that would make you younger, but there were no spells that did that (to the best of my knowledge), so you couldn't make them yourself.
Reincarnation used to be a Wizard spell. However, there was no mention of the new body being young. So you might need GM approval to get younger that way.
2nd edition Clone wasn't that useful. Well, not to the person being cloned that is. The clone had the same memories as the original had when the samples were taken, so there would be a memory gap. Also the original and the clone would want each other dead. If both were alive too long, there was a high risk of both going insane.
Its a shame that there aren't more options for arcane life extension. You would think that Wizards would be quite interested in this topic.
Its seems that divine spell casters have a near monopoly on life magic. Magic healing, removing afflictions, and bringing the dead back to life. They even get Animate Objects.

Any demi-plane + Astral Projection.
Astral Projection places your real body into suspended animation. You're new body has copies of all your gear.

Infinite money always makes this either (permanant timeless demiplanes, sun orchid elixer, staves of reincarnate, and wish to reset your race)
The process is relatively simple, easily accomplished by a level 9 wizard, or level 10 arcanist/sorcerer
(If you know of a level 18 wizard, you can always buy a scroll of simulacrum, and make a level 9 wizard, just don't forget the cost of the Ruby dust)
First, cast summon monster level 4 (you can use higher, but this is easiest at level 9 and 10, with great return)
You summon a bison, (it has the highest strength) augmented summoning, and bulls strength can net more returns
You then cast anthropomorphic animal on the bison, you then cast possession on said bison
You now have a lot of strength, cast blood money, then fabricate gold coins
Fabricate allows you to craft something instantly, as long as you have the materiel, the material component, is the raw material
Blood money allows you to sacrifice strength (as strength damage) to produce the material components of a spell, which last until the spell is cast, 1 point if strength damage for 500gp of material.
You create gold with blood money, and turn it into coins with fabricate, after which they are no longer material components, and will not fade.
With your 30+ strength bison, leaving 1 strength so you can stay conscious
1 cycle nets over 10000gp
This takes a lot of your spells, so it is highly recommended to make simulacrum of a higher level wizard, or of yourself (once your level is high enough)
Put them in a double time demiplanes, and watch the dividends flow :D

All you have to do is take down a certain Runelord to get access to Blood Money.
