Part three suggests that there are 2 clerics and two other classes capable of healing such as Bard, Druid, Paladin or Sorcerer.

I get the last three but I don't see how the bard is a healer. What am I missing? Or did the bard at one time have access to Heal but by the time the PF2 book was released, it lost access to it?

Thanks guys.

I literally read every part of Bard except that ability. My brain jumped to the conclusion it was some mental affecting ability as opposed to healing.

I feel rather stupid now.

Don't feel stupid.

This is why short descriptions are really useful in spell listings. It isn't obvious knowing, by reading the Occult spell list, that Soothe is able to heal.

It also isn't possible from reading the spell description of Soothe to know that it's on the Occult list.

Just chiming in here to say that everyone in my group also didn't get that Soothe was a healing spell (I didn't know until I made a similar post in the forums a few weeks ago!).

Based on the name, we thought that the spell would be some kind of calm emotions-type thing.

Might I suggest changing the name of the spell? Perhaps something like "Soothe Wounds" or "Succor" would better convey what the spell does?

I agree with Mekkis that having short descriptions of spells/feats/powers will be essential in the final rulebook!

Thanks!

Indeed, if the spell had the name of "cure", it would be more intuitive.

There is actually a Cleric domain power called "Soothing Words" that does counteract an emotion effect on an ally.

So it is definitely unintuitive.
