Battle Oracle Multiclass

Advice

Hey guys
I'm playing a Battle Oracle (currently level 11) in a campaign at the moment, and just wanted to know if there are any good classes that stack well with it.

If it helps, I'm primarily a melee fighter (got a talking axe that helps me out) and I'm considering taking Eldritch Heritage (abyssal) for some natural attacks.

Any classes stack well?
Or should I just stick to purely Oracle?

Any multiclassing will screw up your spell progression but if that's ok then I'd consider barbarian for rage though at 11th your rage rounds and bonuses will less noticeable. Two levels in Titan Mauler allows you to one hand your Axe which opens up shield usage. Then you'd be able to properly go Holy Vindicator.

If you somehow were able to to grab Racial Heritage (Kobold) and Scaled Disciple then you'd be able to go Dragon Disciple as an Oracle which is pretty amazing but that won't happen without some GM help.

Two levels in Paladin grants divine grace and really weak smite and lay on hands though those can buffed with magic items. A proper multiclass would be going full Oradin.

A level in Swashbuckler gives you panache. I'm pretty sure you'd be able to parry and riposte with your axe but you wouldn't be able to get more panache without resting.

If you're lawful it might be fun to grab the Warrior Priest feat and go into hellknight signifer.

Barbarian into Rage Prophet would be thematic.

I would just stay the course. Bestow grace of the champion, control weather etc. are amazing.

Rage profit would be my only other option I would go furious guardian (ulfan guard) rage profit.

So I had a chat with the GM, and turns out we're gonna keep going with these characters after level 20. So I'll be able to hit level 20 Battle Oracle and still grab something else.

So losing stuff in Oracle wont be a problem.

Thanks heaps for your suggestions though! I'll definitely look into grabbing one of those.

Update on this.
GM has confirmed we're definitely going past level 20.
He's only letting me grab Racial Heritage (Kobold) so I can take Dragon Disciple.

If, for whatever reason, the campaign gets to the point where I can grab a third class, do you know of anything that would compliment an Oracle Dragon Disciple?

I'm thinking of playing it safe and grabbing something like fighter, but there might also be something a little more interesting I've overlooked.

A third class could be Paladin for divine grace. With three levels and some uses of Extra Lay on Hands you could grab Ultimate Mercy but if your charisma is high enough then you wont need Extra Lay on Hands. You'd need cha 28 for Ultimate Mercy without feats but 24 with one Extra Lay on Hands,

4 levels of Paladin Oath of Vengeance is not a bad choice, giving you divine grace and a few smite evils.

Bard levels would help out as well if you want to go more of a support direction beyond level 20. Keep in mind that at this point you have access to 9th level spellcasting, so it's really hard to 1-up that by any means. IMO it's really just a do whatever you want to do situation; no class features from other classes will outshine your highest level Oracle abilities unless you also take those classes to their highest level.

Heck you could start going Sorcerer and start blasting arcane spells alongside your divine spells and talking axe. If you're taking Dragon Disciple having more levels in your bloodline is always nice to have anyway.

As fun as arcane spells would be, the issue is armour. In playing an Oracle Dragon Disciple, I can wear armour and not have a problem. If I grab an arcane spellcasting class, I either have to ditch my armour, or have a higher chance of spell failure.

Ok I've got it.
Thematically, I wanna stick to dragon stuff.
Does anyone know of a way to get a dragon companion?
Whether it be a drake, or miniature dragon or whatever.
Is there a class that offers that? Or a feat or something?

Pseduodragon is on the improved familiar list
A summoner's eidolon can be made to look like whatever you want

Summoner would he great, but as a Battle Oracle I'm gonna be wearing medium and heavy armour, so the chance of arcane spell failure would be through he roof.

I actually have a character that I wanted to give a dragon familiar to. I was going to go with the Pseduodragon that Darigaaz mentions, but didn't really have room for Improved Familiar. Instead, since his class can get a regular familiar, I went with a rhamphorhynchus. It's a dinosaur-like familiar. For fluff, I decided that said dino believes that it's a dragon and can't be convinced it's not.

Did you know that your Oracle has Kobold ancestry!? You do now! Since you are now 1/13th Kobold, you qualify for scaled disciple and can become a dragon instead having a pet dragon. Unless you're not human.

Yeah but I lowkey want both haha.
I'm well aware I can turn into a dragon, but if we get to the point where a third class is an option, I'm considering grabbing a familiar. Only issue is Arcane spell failure, as I'll be wearing heavy/medium armour.

You could go with a Magus. After a while, they don't have spell failure and you can use an Arcana to get a familiar.

Eldritch Heritage: Arcane bloodline would get you a familiar.

True! I hadn't considered those options!
That's much better than wasting a whole bunch of feats to get familiar bond.

Thanks everyone for your help!
What ima do is get a familiar from a feat, and for a third class, take something like unarmed fighter to bump up the natural attacks I get from Dragon Disciple (I'll get 2 claws and a bite, and also a tail from taking Tail Terror).

In a perfect world, I'd also grab more natural attacks (like talons or a gore attack or something) but best bet seems to be just improving what I already have.

Thanks again folks!
