Elven Chain strangeness

So, all of the other items in the special non-magical part of rulebook tell you that you can make this item magical and what that means. There is no such rider on the elven chain.

Is it really not possible to enchant elven chain? That seems like an oversight. I hope its an oversight.

I really hope so too. Especially since magical elven chain has long been part of the game and the world...

Does this mean that Frodo doesn't survive! Getting stabbed in his Elven chain is, like, 80% of what he does.

I found it kind of odd that apparently Elven Chain is now a chain shirt instead of a full suit of chainmail like it previously was. I suppose there can be room for both an Elven Chain Shirt and Elven Chainmail in the final book, I would like to see the medium armor option return.

I dunno, I find it more the trope when it's a shirt rather than a full suit.

Personally, I blame Hollywood.

Not only that, but the next entry for the Mithral chain shirt specifies it reduces check penalty. The Elven chain (also Mithral) is quiet, but does NOT have reduced ACP...????

Considering they have admitted that a couple things not being there, like everyone being trained in unarmored defense I would expect this a case of it's supposed to be there but is missing and we will get it back in the first errata.

For what it's worth, it seems as if the description needs one more sentence.

The description does start with "Elven chain is a chain shirt made of mithral..." (emphasis mine) Adding a sentence or phrase such as "Elven chain is treated as a mithral chain shirt, as well as having additional properties" would make it clearer.
