Sugestions for a Alchemist who wants to see how people work?

Advice

So, I have this idea for an alchemist who is obsessed with biology, He wants to know what maked people tick, How the body works and what binds the flesh, Experimenting on himself and others, Using Alchemical Simulacrum and Greater Alchemical Simulacrum to make copies of people for his experiments. But I'm struggling to decide how to make him..

Should he be a Dwarf or a Drow? He will probably be chaotic neutral (But still work with the party and not be chaotic stupid) And base alchemist or a archetype? Promethean Alchemist or Vivisectionist? What discoveries might fit the idea?

It depends on what the alchemist does with the knowledge. Both the Chirurgeon and Reanimator archetypes could easily fit what you're describing. Heck, you could even combine them to make a sort of healer/necromancer type character.

As for race and discoveries, again it really depends on what you want your character to do.

He wants to know what makes people work, So he can build his own people basicaly, Create servants and new bodies, Bodies for himself if he dies, New bodies for others, New people or servants who can replace people and so on. He isent intrested in undead, He wants to create life! With science!

Preservationist?
Promethean?
Clone Master?
Homunculist?

I'm disappointed noone mentioned vivisectionist.

Grand Lodge

Dimensional Excavator... see how people/living beings react to having a literal Pit thrown at them.

Be warned, most DM's frown on actually making extra bodies in game. Tends to clog up the turn order.

But as Sideromancer suggested, Clone Master or Homunculist might be your best bet when it comes to a set of abilities that really tie into that "What IS a Person" idea you have.

Chirurgeon, Internal Alchemist, and Vivisectionist are compatible archetypes; you could do all three.
