Dammit. The session devolved into a long-overdue logistics session. Spent hours going over all the loot in the campaign, finally selling and buying things. So no hill billy ogres yet. And next week I'll be on vacation. So I guess it'll be two weeks till Hill Billy Ogre Day.

Well, it IS the Independence Day weekend, so there'll be plenty of hillbilly ogres out and about. And they'll blow up REAL GOOD!

We're not expecting to play again until late this month, maybe one game - or at least a get-together - before Scint and I go on our NZ vacation at the end of July.
Then we'll be able to restart game weekends properly in August, hoping.
Hey, all! Game night at my friend's house tomorrow, then it's making my place look like humans live here for my game next weekend. How about everyone else?

I heard about the heat wave you're getting over there. I also heard something about the government not allowing people to have air conditioners. Is that true?
So, the weekend looms like a looming thing. I'm running the first adventure of our new homebrew campaign, "Rise of the Red Pharaoh". It hearkens back to our earliest days as players where we used the ancient Egyptian pantheon and I'm made some houserules that I think will make things a little grittier, and little pulpier. Just like a good glass of fresh squeezed orange juice, but with the pits left in.
How about everyone else?

I'm glad what I heard was false. I'm surprised they haven't tried it with clown show we have going on in government, though.

My game went pretty well. I sensed the vibe in the room and cut it short by about an hour but everyone had a good time. The Rise of the Red Pharaoh is off to the races!
We are back from vacation! Queenstown, Aotearoa New Zealand was ridiculously beautiful and other than a couple rainy days it was gorgeous the entire time, never got above 8 C and was only below freezing at night.
I think every day we were there we remarked at least three times how pretty the place was.
It's the first place we've vacationed that we decided we absolutely need to return someday, and that's even after the three chained flights taking over 24 hours to get there from China.
We're home now and the pups are back with us as well, and we're likely not doing anything this weekend as we recover from jet lag and Airport Crud.

The real question is: Was it a nice square/rectangle, or did you have to cut the tiles/pavers for radiuses?

It’s not outrageous. People cut pavers to make swept out driveways all the time. We had a water leak under a paver driveway of that type awhile back. We had to place the special cut radius pavers in place as they were removed, so we could put them back as they were. Luckily the driveway had a repeating pattern, so we didn’t have to replicate the whole section we took out. Just the radius part. Lucky, because there was no space to lay out the whole section..

Radiuses! We had one 9 foot radius, an 8 foot radius, a 6 foot, a 5 foot and a a 5 and a half foot radius that all had to be cut and connected.
But yeah, the pavers were all quite large so we laid down the pattern and then marked all the radiuses and cut them so the pavers themselves weren't laid out in a radius.

I'm home from the hospital. Again. I got out last Friday, was back in by Monday. I'm very tired.
No games this weekend. August has descended upon us like a molten lead blanket and my crew are scattered everywhere.

5e Crooked Moon has restarted and we'll be three sessions back in as of tomorrow.
My Pathfinder game is on hold until late September or early October as I'll be going in for surgery in mid-Sept (they STILL haven't given me a specific date) and I'm not 100% sure how long I'll need to spend recovering.

Crooked Moon went awesomely.
We're still in the fungus-ridden forest, we fought off some annoying but not too difficult giant beetles, then our cleric's arcane eye discovered a camp of blighted satyrs and a blighted centaur off in the distance. We'd fought some of these guys before and they were surprisingly difficult, so we decided to try to sneak-attack them before they could potentially pincer us from behind if we tried to go around them.
The bard used her marvelous pigments to paint us some iron powder in sacks to use as dust bombs, some iron bolas, and a couple of iron-hooked nets. We managed to catch one of the Satyrs with the first dust bomb and a second in one of the nets (the Paladin fumbled with her net so it got discarded), then we got promptly swarmed by the whole group.
It looked pretty dicey at first, but between us spreading out so the satyrs couldn't catch us in their horn-blast cones all at once, the paladin's ridiculously-high AC, and all of us having some healing ability to throw around, we were able to turn the tide and overcome rather overwhelming odds with a decisive victory.
The DM straight-up said "I thought you guys were dead." Part of that was him not having the greatest rolls (we teased him that his d20 was punishing him for leaving it discarded under a shelf for two weeks), but it was also some luck on our part with crits combined with good tactics and cooperation.
We're camping and resting up before proceeding on deeper into the forest, eventually hoping to corner the weird fungus fey that appears to be behind all of this and keeps animating trees and corpses to taunt and gloat at us. I'm gonna shoot it in the face.

PARTY: Takes three rounds to defeat two APL=CR named ogre NPCs.
ALSO PARTY: Takes seven more rounds to defeat the one ogre's rat familiar.
That familiar is a goddamn hero.

No game here. We're hoping to get things going again this month but that's not looking very likely for various reasons. I'm still adjusting physically and mentally to this "New Cal" and so far it's not going well. My depression has been epic but I think that's because I was taken off my most effect medication for it. I spoke to my therapist yesterday and she suggested going back on it, slowly at first, to see if I can notice any changes. Hopefully it'll get me feeling like I at least want to participate in things like basic respiration. Stay tuned!

No game this weekend, but a big family lunch for my ex's bday tomorrow so that's exciting (southern fried catfish buffet restaurant. Can't wait!).
Anyway, hope all are well. I'm still struggling to find footing in this new world I've been thrust into. I'll be back around often enough!

Got Rise of the Runelords with a full table today. Last time two of the four party members made a bargain with a devil. They heard the word "wish" and it was like an Olympic-level two-man luge run sprint to Hell--they didn't even ask why he had been bound to the circle nor what his function was, they just starting whaling away at it with their newly-found adamantine weapon till he busted out.

Howdy, folks!
Been a while since I've dropped by over here! I'm doing great and I hope you all are well!
I was talking about my old Pathfinder game on another RPG Discord, and that made me wonder if the old Paizo Forums were still active. And I'm really glad to see that they are!
I'm still playing a lot of different RPGs, though I don't think I've touched a d20 since I played a one-shot of Dungeon Crawl Classics at the Running GAGG Convention back in February. I'm currently in weekly games of Blades '68, Public Access, and Fall of Magic. Most of the games I now play that do use dice only use d6.
Anyway, just wanted to see what you folks are up to and to let y'all know that I'm still alive and kicking!

We're playing Blades '68 at the moment. My character is a Veteran, but I decided to make him a retired Major from the Logistics Corps who likes cricket and making model ships out of matchsticks instead of the setting's equivalent of Rambo.
Going in for surgery today. Should be minor, just taking some polyps out. But it's the first surgery I've had in years, and the first in over two decades that wasn't just dental work.

Got home from the hospital, slept a bunch, had a light and soft dinner, now actually at my computer and mostly alert.
So far so good. Will get results back in a week or two.
