[5e]Interest check for a published adventure

Recruitment

Hey All,

I love 5e and GM or play a lot of homebrew adventures for it. I have played LMoP and am playing CoS (no spoilers!) but I'd like to try out running a game from an adventure. I haven't decided which adventure to buy so I'm looking for interest. Disclaimer: This is not a democratic process but I do want input.

Currently, I'm thinking Out of the Abyss would be awesome but I've also heard great things about Storm King's Thunder. Lay it on me. What do you recommend/want to play?

I played the very beginning of Out of the Abyss, it is a fairly neat concept and I think PbP would allow a lot more interaction with the various NPCs that travel with the party.

I don't know much about Storm King's Thunder outside of the fact that you fight a lot of giants.

Not too familiar with any of the published adventures, but I'd be down to play in one :D

I'm always down for more 5e fun. The only adventure I don't have any experience playing is LMoP, but the only one I've reached the end in was CoS.

My tabletop crew is currently in AoTA, just reached level 5, but the last few adventures have a number of possible paths and outcomes written in so I'd be down to do that one too.

Id be interested in either of those two. Haven't played either one. I have done most of the Adventure League content for Storm King's Thunder but I'm not sure how much it actually ties into the module. More like a primer Id say.

I am down for any of them, my RL group just started Storm kings thunder, but we have not gotten very fair. I say get what you want to run, players will come.

I'm running both at the moment here. STK is a lot of work, if you are just going straight from the published book. Most locations are just a few sentences and the CR of encounters never seems right (even before my ridiculous sized party).

STK spoiler:
Most fun party had was one of the giant attacks on the town. Quite a memorable experience for me as a DM and was tons of fun. Beyond that it has been a giant sandbox that really dragged for a while, just beginning to get on track up in chapter 8.

OotA spoiler:
Most fun for me has been the survival aspects of tracking resources in the Underdark wilderness, going from bizarre encounter to bizzare encounter trying to get to civilization. And of course the Demogorgon attack.

Very interested. A mostly by-the-book adventure is exactly what I'm looking for.

Silver Crusade

I would love to play out of the abyss

Consider me interested as well. Out of the Abyss was the first 5e pbp I played on these boards, and our group did somewhat well, getting to the Deep Gnome town (which I can't remember how to spell at the moment), before the GM dropped.

I have never played Storm King's Thunder, and know very little about it.

The above being said, I do enjoy 5e, so would likely app to either.

I'm interested!

Thanks for the advice! I was leaning Abyss already so now I'm choosing that given the input here.

Hit me up with level 1 characters, folks. UA allowed. I'll provide more details about timing, expectation on Monday.

I've been wanting to play OotA for some time. Even have a wizard ready to go for such a game. :)

I have a notion for a Hunter Conclave Revised Ranger.

Point Buy, array or rolled stats?

Point buy.

Character creation details in campaign info. Nothing unexpected but some tips on the materials of characters I'd like to see.

Question: How do I change the recruitment thread now? Still somewhat new to the paizo boards and I can change the campaign name but I don't see how to change the recruitment thread name. A little self-conscious about asking paizo to change the name to recruitment for a 5e published adventure thread.

Gameplay is open for those who want to dot and delete. This does not mean that your character is accepted. I just know this is convenient for me to be able to follow all updates from my campaign tab. I'll mark you inactive if you are not part of the party. (again, if there is a better way to do this, I'm all ears).

Cool. Here you go.

Edit: I'll work on Background tonight.

Make a new recruitment thread. Then, under "Campaign Info" tab press "Edit this Campaign" button. Scroll down past the text box, and you'll see links for the different tabs. Press "Unset" under the recruitment one, and save changes. Then tab over to the recruitment tab. You'll be prompted to select a new recruitment thread and can choose the new one you just made.

I would enjoy some more 5e. I enjoy the printed adventures. I have several ideas

I'll get something made on Monday, busy tomorrow.

Thanks, GM Infinity! Here's the new recruitment thread. See you all over there!

I'd love to play, running some 5e pbps and home games, but not playing as a PC in any. I'll get something together and submit on the recruitment thread.
