I know it is early for this, since the general game mechanics have to come first, but from many of the heated discussions about different aspects of ancestries, it seems like a great idea for "Ultimate Ancestries of Golarion" to be an early supplemental text for the new system that should be focused on bringing in many of the ancestries not included in the core rulebook, so that there can be dedicated space to giving these ancestries adequate feat options, rather than burying them in the first Bestiary.

Personally, I would be ok with this book dropping concurrently with the core rulebook and the core rulebook including less ancestries as a whole, so that more space could be dedicated to classes, but that is probably a less popular opinion and is probably something that might be better determined by mass survey and market research.

I’m okay with it not being “Ultimate”, just so there’s the possibility of a follow-on book later. But yeah, this book ranks up there with getting a book with a bunch of classes for me!

I could certainly see an Advanced Player’s Guide including a section for a bunch of ancestries, since it’s kind of “the CRB, but without space taken up for base rules”.

Given what I've read about ancestries so far, I agree. I think it should go before an advanced players guide II.

I've gotta say I'm inclined to agree with this.

Add in a revamped Occult book and a book featuring some of the more unique non-Psychic PF1 Classes you can't manage with the CRB Classes (Oracle, Inquisitor, Witch, Shaman, etc.) and you have the ability to do anything you did in 1E in 2E in a very short period of time (and only 3 Books plus the Core), which would be very nice and definitely help out those who like the more obscure stuff we'll be losing in the edition change.

You could do all the Classes in one book if you want to put, like, 15-20 Classes in one book...but that seems excessive, I must admit.

Drop the "Ultimate" and you got yourself a deal.

Revised proposal: "Ancestries of Golarion: volume 1." As it seems like folks expect this to be more of a serial production.

One early book of extra ABC - extra ancestries, extra backgrounds and extra classes. (Backgrounds won't need much space, I expect)

While I love the alliteration, I think a big book of backgrounds would probably not be that popular a supplement if background mechanics are essentially the trait system from the existing system. I do kind of like the idea though, of the "Core Rule Book" being more like a binder, with the essential game mechanics rules as one volume, classes as one volume, ancestries as one volume, etc. It would work fine in a digital market place, but with the need to design around book publication it would be pretty unwieldy.

Hahaha, yeah, that was much more just for the joke. :) I could see these as chapters in a book though.

"Players' ABC" ;)
