Any ETA on all the other classes?

Prerelease Discussion

Are there any non-core classes (besides the alchemist) that are expected to be released soon after the release of the new edition (in terms of product release dates)?

When will we see Arcanists, Witches, Kineticists, Slayers, Psychics, Shamans and so on in the second edition?

I doubt they even know yet. Seeing as how we have like 2 years before we will see the finished core.

They've said they want (not promise, but want) to enable all characters from previous editions within the first couple of years of the game. So that'll hopefully be doable by 2021 or thereabouts.

Of course, for some classes that probably means being able to play that character with an existing Class. You may not need a new edition of Swashbuckler if the PF2 Fighter and Rogue handle that character archetype well for example.

The only classes we seem really sure to get based on commentary from people at Paizo are Oracle and Witch, though Psychic Classes also seem pretty likely (and they have specifically mentioned Occultist as something they'd find interesting).

The kineticist is on the top of my list of must haves but I am worried how toned down or just plain altered, balanced, "fixed", etc. the class will be. Plus it looks like blasting options might actually be weaker in 2e as well.

One thing I would like to see changed for the knentcist is how quickly they recover from burn. Should heal between combat instead of per day. Also we don't know for a fact yet if blasting is less nor even close if it will be for kinetcist.

Kind of like stress from FATE, you mean? I could see that.

With resonance and "spell points"(power, energy, etc.) they might not need burn. Though I hope they keep the class as a Con based caster, I love having a class with Con has your highest stat and it made sense other then for HP/Fort saves. Also it would be nice to have kinetic blast/blade as super natural abilities or at least something in the rules that lets you use them both without provoking and also while in a grapple.

Yeah def want it to stay con based.

As for other classes, I think we'll likely get all or at least most of the non-psychic base classes in some new version of the APG, and the psychic book will probably come out in a couple years instead of many years. The hybrid classes probably won't exist anymore, since (hopefully) the classes, archetypes, and multiclassing /should/ be built in such a way as to better enable such builds from the start.

If they actually fix/replace burn and make it palatable/workable, that would be the best lure to get me to the 'hopeful' side.

Away with you and your false hopes of being optimistic! also I'm sure the 2nd edition kinetcist is still probably far and away from making print. However when it makes playtest I will be right there trying to help it get into proper shape.

Mona suggested on 'Know Direction' that Witch might show up early since it's pretty trivial to adapt to PF2 due to its modular structure and the nature of most existing Hexes.

Sweet. Love witches.
