{Opie Cunningham voiceover:} Like the Cylons, they didn't have a plan either.
Also, the goblins stole all the money from the banana stand. And then they burned it down. While they were still inside.

I had to triangle-up the Playtest forums just now to leave unopened again until August. [RANT SELF-CENSORED]
Yeah, I'm going to join you I think. I won't be back in August though.
Even if you make a post agnostic on whichever debate is currently raging, the most prolific posters interpret it as being "on their side" or "against them". (And that means it's either "obviously correct analysis" or "agenda-driven nonsense" respectively). The more reasonable people actually interested in learning about other perspectives and who one might actually want to talk to are much more rare.
I have no confidence it's going to get better in August. The playtest is going to be driven (again) by a bunch of argumentative, opinionated people, blind to their own biases and unable to see understanding the other side as anything more than a weakness. Good luck sorting through the rancor, Paizo. :(

Pretty much this.

I'm trying to be communicative there. Hope I didn't make any of you mad at me, 'cause that would suck a bunch of 100-year eggs. :(

You've done nothing to upset me mad comrade. Its about 3-4 people in the threads that irritate me and your not one of them. (And mind you its not because they disagree with me I mean heck I disagree with about everything graystone says but she doesn't irritate me)
Its really the way they say it and the snarky and rude comments. That and the "I'm obviously right and your absolutely wrong" mentality. Even when I would agree with those people I still want to argue against them.

I get where you're coming from on that!
"Me am right, always, neener neener." "Oh yeah?!"
Disagreements should hopefully lead to constructive discussions, rather than slinging mud/goblin poo. Maybe we can post "past" such folk as a form of 'silent treatment'? ;)

I've never had a century egg, so I wouldn't know if they suck or not.

Sulfides and ammonia do not lend confidence in their edibility to my particular palette. Ergo, for me ... horrible ...

Greetings, friends. It is me, your magical pony friend, back here at Paizo, basking in the warm glow of the flames and heat created by the launch of a new edition.
Now, as we're all aware, gaming was a much better pastime back in [insert the year in which you started] and has only recently been ruined by [PF2e/Millenials/4e/The Lack of Support for Eberron]. Rather than debate the future of this godless dystopia we all currently inhabit, I wanted to extend a hand to all my former comrades in arms and accursed foes (you vile scum sucking bastards), and welcome you to sit here, have a virtual beverage and slice of pie, and enjoy the pain and anguish of Those Damned Kids fighting the same war we once partook in ages ago.
So, hey, long time, no see. I hope the wife/husband and kids/pets are well.
Edit: Sorry friends. I thought we could have something nice and friendly, but I forgot how edition wars work. Kiss the spouse and kick the dog for me. I'll be back when the sun sets in the east and mountains blow in the wind like leaves. (Okay, I'll probably be back sooner than that, but mostly to talk about Fallout.)
Fare ye well, edition warriors.
Sebastion, the Pathfinder 2nd Edition War will make all other edition wars look like an elementary school fight. I do not see how we will win this war; however, I will join the fight and hope for the best. What else can we do?

A strange game.
The only winning move isnot to play.

Couldn't have said that better myself!
Seriously, though, I've been avoiding the "Rules" and "General Discussion" forums for years... to the point where I clicked the little triangle and have never clicked it again. I plan to do the same for the Playtest forum.
I am reserving judgement until I have a copy of the Playtest Rules in my hands.

Even better, use Animate Dead to bring Gary back as some kind of undead abomination (with psionic mythic levels, of course). Then we could also bring back former TSR employees as undead too. 2e won't stand a chance against an army of undead grognards!!! Unless they hire a band of first level murderhobos. Then the plan is doomed to failure.
