Hopefully someone in that squabbling cacophony has a plan this time.

{Opie Cunningham voiceover:} Like the Cylons, they didn't have a plan either.

Also, the goblins stole all the money from the banana stand. And then they burned it down. While they were still inside.

Great, now we got cyclons on TOP of goblin alchemists! :P ;)

I hate it when that happens.

It's not fun, Sissyl. But at least it's less...disturbing than a Hellraiser Christmas Tree. :)

"Awwww, look at the cool bronze Rubik cube!" "No ... nonono ... WAIT!!"

Mad,

To be fair it was more done by Krampus than Clive Barker...

Yeah, I'm going to join you I think. I won't be back in August though.

Even if you make a post agnostic on whichever debate is currently raging, the most prolific posters interpret it as being "on their side" or "against them". (And that means it's either "obviously correct analysis" or "agenda-driven nonsense" respectively). The more reasonable people actually interested in learning about other perspectives and who one might actually want to talk to are much more rare.

I have no confidence it's going to get better in August. The playtest is going to be driven (again) by a bunch of argumentative, opinionated people, blind to their own biases and unable to see understanding the other side as anything more than a weakness. Good luck sorting through the rancor, Paizo. :(

You'll be missed, Steve. You are a dependable voice of reason and sanity.

And I've already backslid on staying out of the Playtest area. :/

Pretty much this.

I'm trying to be communicative there. Hope I didn't make any of you mad at me, 'cause that would suck a bunch of 100-year eggs. :(

The Exchange

A decent list of items. yes yes things things things

You've done nothing to upset me mad comrade. Its about 3-4 people in the threads that irritate me and your not one of them. (And mind you its not because they disagree with me I mean heck I disagree with about everything graystone says but she doesn't irritate me)

Its really the way they say it and the snarky and rude comments. That and the "I'm obviously right and your absolutely wrong" mentality. Even when I would agree with those people I still want to argue against them.

I get where you're coming from on that!

"Me am right, always, neener neener." "Oh yeah?!"

Disagreements should hopefully lead to constructive discussions, rather than slinging mud/goblin poo. Maybe we can post "past" such folk as a form of 'silent treatment'? ;)

I've started doing that with two of them so far.

I've never had a century egg, so I wouldn't know if they suck or not.

I try to stay out of the playtest threads, but this has been the best advice for dealing with some people so far.

Sulfides and ammonia do not lend confidence in their edibility to my particular palette. Ergo, for me ... horrible ...

Right now all I care about is sitting down and running Pathfinder. ANY kind of Pathfinder. Too much of this work crap is being piled on my plate!

Greetings, friends. It is me, your magical pony friend, back here at Paizo, basking in the warm glow of the flames and heat created by the launch of a new edition.

Now, as we're all aware, gaming was a much better pastime back in [insert the year in which you started] and has only recently been ruined by [PF2e/Millenials/4e/The Lack of Support for Eberron]. Rather than debate the future of this godless dystopia we all currently inhabit, I wanted to extend a hand to all my former comrades in arms and accursed foes (you vile scum sucking bastards), and welcome you to sit here, have a virtual beverage and slice of pie, and enjoy the pain and anguish of Those Damned Kids fighting the same war we once partook in ages ago.

So, hey, long time, no see. I hope the wife/husband and kids/pets are well.

Edit: Sorry friends. I thought we could have something nice and friendly, but I forgot how edition wars work. Kiss the spouse and kick the dog for me. I'll be back when the sun sets in the east and mountains blow in the wind like leaves. (Okay, I'll probably be back sooner than that, but mostly to talk about Fallout.)

Fare ye well, edition warriors.

Sebastion, the Pathfinder 2nd Edition War will make all other edition wars look like an elementary school fight. I do not see how we will win this war; however, I will join the fight and hope for the best. What else can we do?

A strange game.

The only winning move is
not to play.

Couldn't have said that better myself!

Seriously, though, I've been avoiding the "Rules" and "General Discussion" forums for years... to the point where I clicked the little triangle and have never clicked it again. I plan to do the same for the Playtest forum.

I am reserving judgement until I have a copy of the Playtest Rules in my hands.

Oops... Too late to edit!

NOOOO! what have you done. now we don't get saving throws vrs death effects anymore. And kittens explode in level draining doom damage!

Even better, use Animate Dead to bring Gary back as some kind of undead abomination (with psionic mythic levels, of course). Then we could also bring back former TSR employees as undead too. 2e won't stand a chance against an army of undead grognards!!! Unless they hire a band of first level murderhobos. Then the plan is doomed to failure.

I'm not Orcus. Orcus and I have a strict "I don't make undead for him, he lets me still worship him in exchange for sacrificing frozen chicken breasts by the light of the moon."

Vid,

I didn't think of that...

Sigh I finally foster peace between two opposing forces on a highly controversial topic that had been argued about heavily and before the end of the day the thread is closed.

That's just how paladin threads roll.

Yep. As a player of Paladins, I know well the folly of paladin threads.

I never play paladins.

Or clerics.

I like inquisitors but only for the Vampire Hunter type.

Interesting. What class and race/ancestry would you assign to Dee Dee McCall?

(Sweet Ygorl, I watched way way too damn much TV as a little kid.

Dunno, we didn't have a tv in the 80s until 1989.

I play Paladins mostly because every time I play wizards...they end up dying horribly.

I don't play wizards either.

What do you play then?

Rangers, Rogues, Medium is one of my favorite classes, Psychic, Kineticist, Alchemist, Investigator, Slayer, and Swashbuckler, off the top of my head.

Wow. Other than Ranger, and maybe Investigator, (though I do like Swashbuckler), you and I have WAY different styles Captain.

Psychic Detective, the investigator archetype is my favorite archetype.

I bet we go for different ranger types too.

My last one was a dwarven ranger focusing on two handed weapons.

Either ranged or two weapon fighting. Yep. We are different.

And Occultist, I'd love to make an Occultist.

And what's the deal with wearing armor.

I got punched a lot as a kid. :p ;)

I dont play "new" classes. I think they should be made into archetypes instead.

So did I (I have 7 brothers) but I learned how to dodge. :-)

Freehold,

If I wanted to ask you something, I'd send it to you via pony express.

Captain,

I'm the oldest of three brothers. Neither of them hit me but most of the 9th graders did when I was in 7th...

Full casters, DSP Psionicists and Initiators, and Paladins here.

Also Warlocks, Dragonfire Adepts, and Binders if 3.5 material is allowed.

I always wanted to try an Archivist for 3.5, then I sold my book so I could get Bestiary 2 at half price when Borders closed.
