Forcing a shape-changer into natural form?

Rules Questions

Literally, is there any way to force a shape changer, such as a Kitsune, into their natural form? Their Shape Change is an SU, so Dispel Magic doesn't work, right? I suppose AMF is SORT of an option, but not a fun one, since our only arcane caster is level 7. And a sorc.

Shadow Lodge

It's out of your price range, and the DC is abysmal, but Shifter's Sorrow does what you're looking for.

Well. That is CERTAINLY an interesting weapon, but I was hoping for something I didn't have to use to try to kill the target. Thanks for the info! (And, actually, it's... not out of my price range. just based on my loot from the last fight our party went against, I've got a hair under 5k coming, and we're ransacking that target's lair right now for more.)

A bit expensive, but worth mentioning, is the Moonlight Lantern; a creature not in its true form that is in the lantern's light has ALL of its other forms revealed as faded but visible images layered on top of itself (no save), and once per day, you can make such a creature make a DC 20 Fort save or be forced into its true form. Once changed in this way, the target can't change back for 1 minute.

That... IS expensive, but almost exactly what I need. I'd have to discuss it with my GM, though, because while the buy price is outside my range, I've got a sword worth more than the craft price...

It doesn't get rid of the abilities they get from being in shapeshift, but for the purposes of foiling disguise, reveal true shape is the easiest option you have.

If you can grapple and pin them, Form-Fixing Gauntlets can do the trick.

I do like the effect and use of those Gauntlets, unfortunately when I gave them as part of several awards to my party, they were more interested in a weapon to beat down a shape shifter than controlling one...

There is the feat Shapeshifter Foil.....but you need to be able to use a polymorph effect to meet the prerequisites.

... Both the gauntlets and the feat fit my needs perfectly. I have a minion that happens to be a grappling monk and a Kitsune, so grapples aren't a problem, and she's already got the needed ability, just not the skills. The gauntlets are probably a better option than the feat, since that's a feat AND five skill ranks, but it's still good to have options. Shame the feat isn't considered a combat feat, I could just put it on an AoMF and call it good.
