I have this concept in my mind about a Arabian style Desert elf wizard who uses magic themed around sand for an upcoming game. Unfortunately, i haven't found a way to really do this in game terms? Does anyoen have any ideas? Are there a lot of spells themed around sand in the game?
Would a geokineticist work?
Maybe the desert druid? You can play it like a wizard with battle control spells and use wild shape as a protective measure. I think you can also turn INTO a sandstorm.
Why do you envision this as a wizard? That might be helpful because other classes can provide some of that.
If the wizard part is important then you might look at the earth elemental school. Probably with the five-element system since you'll likely want a few air spells as well, to blow sand around. If you get the choice of course.
Look for a Pathfinder-adapted version of the AL-QADIM setting. That's totally your best bet. The elemental "provinces," as they were called, of arcane magic in that setting were wind as air, sea as water, flame as fire (yeah, I know, is there an echo in here?), and, specifically, sand as earth.
Fluff all the spells that cause concealment as being clouds of sand. Obscuring mist, fog cloud, solid fog, sleet storm?. Spells with bludgeoning, slashing, and piercing damage are easily re fluffed. Create pit and the other pit spells work well.
Color spray and sleep use sand as material components.
Ask you GM if you can re-fluff some other spells, like hydraulic push and hydraulic torrent into scouring push and scouring torrent.
Glitterdust too.
I'm going to second the Geokineticist idea expanding into Air at 7th, as well as mention the Sha'ir Occultist as an nice option.
Yeah i quess i worded it poorly. Being a Wizard is not a must, just someone who uses sand.
Your suggestions so far have been great though!
Funny enough, a Telekineticist who uses sand as their projectile has some potential. But I'm going to throw my hat in with the earthto-air crowd.

If your GM would be willing to let you, you might use the 3.5 Spell Thematics feat. While it costs a feat, and doesn't have a huge mechanical benefit it certainly would let you fluff most spells to meet you needs.
Teleport? Whisked away in momentary dust devil vortex of sand. Burning Hands? A spray of super heated sand.

Or, you know, just refluff it anyways without burning a feat...? It's a houserule either way.
kineticist with the earth element is probably the best choice as it would let you literally focus on blasting people with sand and manipulating earth and sand.
