Not me. I'm taking care of my little pirate that weekend so that my wife can go to WisCon

Heads up, Kalindara. They don’t usually do race boons at PaizoCon, alas. But I like GMing there because I get to GM for really cool people — there are so many wonderful people in Organized Play, and it seems like most of them make PaizoCon.
Hmm
Oh, I know. ^_^
I don't actually GM out of my desire for the boons. I honestly love GMing. (I prefer it over playing in almost all cases.) When I go to a con for gaming (as I'm hoping to do next March), I try to GM every slot if I can, even though the boon reward is usually the same. I'm hoping to do something like this for Gen Con 2018 as well.
I'm still a bit tentative about GMing at big cons like PaizoCon/Gen Con, though. I don't have a very powerful voice, so making myself heard in the ballroom will be a struggle. And since I'm going for social reasons as well, to see and meet people, I worry about missing chances to actually see them.

Myself, my wife, and my son will all be there again this year. My wife and I will be volunteering once again this year. I am not going to speak for her but I am already excited to be there again this year with the hopes of meeting more players and even more of our Venture-Officer corps!!
May is not going to get here fast enough!!

How sweet Rob!
(Did you know that WisCon has excellent childcare? You could both go to that con! I love WisCon, but have been choosing to do Paizo Con for the last two years.)
Hmm
Glad to see WisCon getting some love -- when they first moved PaizoCon to Memorial Day weekend, seemed like I was the only one complaining about the conflict.
I'm hoping to hit PaizoCon this year, but I don't know what my finances will look like yet. (I'm officially tired of being unemployed.)

X-posted:
As someone who has been volunteering at PaizoCon for quite a few years, I would like to encourage anyone who hasn't been to this convention to try and get out at least once if you can. It is a convention like no other.
Sure, there are other conventions out there that may host a couple Paizo employees, however one-on-one time with them can be pretty limited. There are a ton of them at GenCon, however they're all pretty busy running large seminars, working the booth, managing the chaos in the Sagamore, etc.
PaizoCon is a smaller-sized convention put on by Paizo for their fans. The seminars are smaller and the staff are way more available for a casual chat. They each take turns running short survival-of-the-fittest delves. Everyone takes part running them too, so if you have a favorite staffer, you get a chance to play at a table they're running. And while PFS and SFS will have a large ballroom of events to choose from, it's not as hectic at GenCon, nor should it be the focus of your time there. They give the afternoon slot off so you can have a chance for a meet and greet with the staff, or a seminar, or to demo some of the cool new third party stuff that the vendors have.
All in all, it's a much more relaxed convention, put on for your benefit as a thank you, and in a great hotel with a lot of amenities (such as free cookies).
Don't break the bank to get here, but it is a once in a life opportunity that you won't forget.

As someone who just experienced their first PaizoCon last year, I whole-heartedly agree with Todd. PaizoCon may be the single smoothest convention experience I've ever had, in fact. There's always something available to do, but I never felt guilty or that I was missing out if I needed to head back to my (very nice) room and regroup for a bit.
Sadly, I have an obligation at another event the same weekend this year, but I'm already beginning budgeting plans for 2019. As an aside, I'm going to be super interested in trading for a PaizoCon GM boon if Isabelle's speculation is correct.

Floater, you will be missed.

We've gone the last few years and absolutely love it! There are a bunch of cool Paizo employees I've had the chance to meet and talk to, and I would definitely have missed out on those opportunities at a bigger convention. Unfortunately we have to skip this year due to baby Neilson's conflicting arrival, but hope to be back in 2019 with him in tow!

I have put in the application for four blocks.I may have made some poor life choices on the application but at the moment they seem sound and valid.
...only drawback is I may not get to kill my liver with the Minnesota crew...
You poor deluded and misguided child...
We are Legion.

I just confirmed it with him. He did play Tome with you as the GM.

If Hilary needs to hit you with it, yes.
Also, if the wifi cooperates (meaning, you run the table outside the main room) we could totally skype me in. Id stay awake for that
