Storyteller, here's my submission for your perusal.

Vampire: the Masquerade (Chicago/Gary by Night):
Name: Victoria Howe
Concept: Tax Lawyer
Clan: Tremere
Nature: Competitor
Demeanour: Curmudgeon
DOB: May 9th, 1960
RIP: October 16th, 1985
Apparent Age: 25
Actual Age: 32
Generation: 10th

Born in Chicago at the beginning of the 60s, Victoria Howe’s life would be shaped by change. She grew up in a middle-class nuclear family, her mother a fervent proponent of second-wave feminism & the anti-war movement, and her father was a rising law student who was old enough to be conscripted into service in the Vietnam War. He survived, in body—albeit with a leg missing thanks to a Vietnamese sniper—but he returned home a broken man in 1970. The sight of her once proud father, who had been a constant, calming presence in her life since she was little, reduced to a barely-mobile shell of the man he used to be, was what allowed little Victoria to finally understand why her mother so vehemently protested against the War.

The changing times of the Seventies forced her to strive for excellence in school, her favoured subjects being history and just about anything related to law. She had seen how badly her father had been faring as a veteran of an unpopular war—barely getting by on government aid and tormented by nightmares of his experiences in Vietnam—and it was that suffering her father had to endure that drove her onward. The way she saw it, she felt she had a responsibility to help those soldiers who never truly came home from overseas… and she could do so by following the career path her father never had a chance to. By 1978 she had earned herself a scholarship to Loyola University Chicago of Law, and she threw herself into her studies with vigour, graduating with honours in 1984. Though she developed a good understanding of different legal fields, she chose to specialize in tax law.

Her career started out promising enough—the firm she worked for was happy to make use of her legal talents, and she won several lucrative cases. They valued her enough to keep her around even though she was quite insistent on giving war veterans much cheaper rates than the firm’s other clients. Her particular blend of expertise and generosity drew the eye of her sire—who would only deal with her, even when more learned and qualified lawyers were available.

She was Embraced on the night of October 16th, 1985.

Sorry bout that :-)

I'll take a look tomorrow and get back to you!

Thanks for letting me know. ^w^

Dragoncat:

Looks good.

Go ahead and dot into the Discussion Thread with an Avatar.

Chicago by Night

Once you are there, I will discuss how you and the other new player will fit into the group and how you will both know one another.

Start with 7 BP instead of 1.

Note that you will be an illegal Embrace much like the other new PC. I will work the story so you both have someone on the inside of the city aiding you.

We will also work on your Sire and Ally in Discussion as well.

Shadow; what classes are still present in game?

What about the Witch Doctor shaman archetype?

Dodekatheon wrote:

I'm interested. Would like to know ^^^ that first though.

Looking a little at the group....and builds I've wanted to try over time. I'd say....I'd be looking a building a poisoner via a Ratfolk Veneficus Witch.

From what I saw, A ley-line witch, a winter witch, a Witch Hunter Inquisitor, and a Witchguard Ranger.

With Evil Eye and poison use, and the eventual Master Alchemist, as well as poison conversation and sticky poison to really maximize the fun...I'd be able to make poisons pretty quickly and be able to poison the gear of the Ranger and Inquisitor while lowering the ability of the baddies to prevent the poisonings?

Thoughts on the build and if it would synergize with the group or if others would look at it with disdain?

Correct, these are the classes still present.

This group has an interesting mix to say the least, I don't think that proposed build would be looked at unkindly.

Hadn't considered that, I am ok with it :-)

Looks like the group could use a good healer. I'll throw together that Witch Doctor as my submission.

Might take me a few days. I'm currently on vacation.

Uh... actually, we had a Witch Doctor in the group (Lurruk), though it seems he's missing.

Too many games, Shadow, way too many xD

How about a hag-riven bloodrager?
Preferably a changeling?

If you pick an Archtype that's a Witch sure :-)

It's a themed game after all!

Folks might wish to check out the Bonewitch archetype I created in

and apply the edits I made in the discussion thread

Wel the archetype is named "hag-riven" and a hag is kind of a witch, as is the whole changeling theme. Not sure how insistent and pedantic you are with the "witch" in the name.

Awesome, that´s gonna be real funny.

I first had a different idea, but this has a lot more rp potential somehow.

Zeylud is what stereotypes of have been made of. When people see a ratfolk they worry about diseases and illnesses, and Zeylud is one of the reasons why. Ever toying with poisons, Zeylud enjoys the finer things in the world like the smells of various concoctions brewing in the lab, the earth beneath his fingers as he searches for reagents, and the smell of fear from his prey as they watch helplessly from the ground after being poisoned.

But he isn't all inherently bad, he enjoys making friends and seeing their efforts succeed, he just prefers to do it with the least effort. Coming from a long line of ratfolk living in the mountains of the snowy north, Zeylud is more than happy traipsing about in the snow and seems quite spirited in the cold. Irony seems to have failed him though as his closest friend is a diminutive fox he carries around named Meeks. Meeks can always been seen brining Zeylud things he drops or others drop happily.

Surprisingly, Zeylud is a witch though few live to tell about his arcane heritage. He isn't the bravest of adventurers but he is eager to support bigger and stronger adventurers around him.

I might submit, gotta find a concept I like that can fit into the theme, though. Looks like the group might could use more marital capacity, but I’d rather not duplicate the existing Witchguard, and martial Witch classes are few and far between.

Origins:

Once upon a time, actually not that long ago, a child was born in a village near the Irrisen frontier. A daughter, lively and well, made her whole family happy - at least in the beginning. Lovely as she was, something seemed wrong with her eyes, they didn´t seem to be the same color. Even though some old women told spooky tales the daughter was named - Satu Varis - and welcomed.
She grew up like everyone else, having a childhood as happy as it could be near the enclave of the Winter Witches in the cold north.
With time strange occurances happened though and the supersitious folks remembered the tales. Children of witches, having different colored eyes, bringing bad luck and drawing the attention of the Winter Witches, hags and other monsters.
Luckily Satu did not show any talent of magic at all, which was good, because a witches child surely would show that.
She turned out to be strong and resilient though, like a real northerner.
Unluckily with time she showed a special temper. When other kids would make fun of her or something happened she didn´t like, she flew into tantrums and in her rage often broke things and sometimes even hit others.
Now in the cold north that wouldn´t be too unusual in itself, not even for a girl, but in Satus case there was something more.
While her village was raided by some monsters, mainly goblins, she went into a rage as some broke into her house and managed to kill some of them - with her bare hands.
She had been able to hide this so far, but now it was obvious that she could grow claws. A clear sign of a witches child!
Only there were no witches in her family, so it was reckoned she must be one of those children exchanged after birth by the witches.
Even though her parents loved her this ran the family into a crisis, casting doubts and pain on everyone.
It didn´t raise Satus acceptance or status in the village either.
Since she always had been intrigued with the Winter Witches and Ice Mages as well as magic overall, she left the village a few years later, setting out to find her place in the world and perhaps her true heritage.

Hi, the game's Witchguard here.

I would appreciate a little more martial power to back me up. I'm working on a Bodyguard build to focus heavily on the defender theme, so having someone who hits hard and can stick close in melee would almost certainly be helpful.

Questions:

What races are available?
Can we take a drawback for a third trait?

Well my hag riven bloodrager provides a good amount of martial power in damage and tanking I daresay. :)

Evil eye makes everyone else a better attacker vs one target ~le shrugs~

You don't want me because I'm an orc? Awww... TT

Any race not a + CR.

Sure.

Mh if more pure damage is wanted i could change Toughness to either Power Attack or Extra Rage.

What's the status of guns? I'm thinking of a Hexcrafter/Eldritch Archer with a firearm.

Emerging guns.

After looking at it, that seems like a bad option: Magi can’t take EWP Firearms at L1 because it requires a BAB of 1, and waiting until 3 to proficient in my weapon is a bad deal. This is probably an even crazier idea, but would a Warlock Vigilante count as witch-themed? (Not sure it fits the AP well, but I’m trying to leave no stone unturned for “witchy” archetypes.)

Hmm, I suppose a Witch is merely a female Warlock. Proceed.

Or a warlock is a male witch, depends on how you look at it :p

I legitimately forgot you're a melee build. Sorry :P

Most inquisitors I play with are either archers or sneaky.

I´ve seen most inquisitors as 2-handed melee builds actually.
Funny how experiences differ from area to area^^

Here´s some more about Sati Varis:
I'd like to further enhance and modify the backstory.
She's CN for a simple reason: being torn between standing out and being bullied, having all that rage inside, but wanting to be a good person at the same time, despising truly evil people and often taking the side of the weak and bullied.
There´s also her heritage, which let's her feel the pull to chaos and violence in her blood. While she wants to resist that, she is also eager to find out about her heritage and possibly true parents.

Why and where exactly she would meet the rest of the group is still open and i would love to discuss that with the GM, if chosen.

Feats i want to take are:
Mother's gift: hag claws
Power Attack
Toughness
Iron Will

Pretty cool with changing the order or taking something else according to party needs.

not quite last minute, but I really like the concept of the tatterdemalion, and this looks like a good place, so I'm gonna fire one up.

are you up for allowing a little VMC action, Shadow?

Noxuria "Nox" Pembrook wrote:

Yep.

Doomed Hero here. Wasn't sure if I'd manage to finish my submission, but I pulled it off.

Aerin is a Witchdoctor Shaman specializing in healing and support casting. Expect lots of buff spells. Later, he'll be a hit point battery for the party and an expert in counterspells and disrupting enemy casters (while still maintaining party healing and buffs at the same time). He's also a great tracker and survivalist who's right at home in the snow-covered wilderness.

Right now, he's a lone wolf looking for a pack. I kept his background purposefully light with just enough details to tie him into the campaign. A more full-fledged background can be developed with GM help if he is picked.

Nox is up. Should have some pretty fun tricks up her sleeves as she levels, good support, healing, less debuffing (figure there are enough of those) than some witches, but should be fun

Dotting - mostly hoping for a spot in Ruins of Azlant where I can play the Gillman Tattooed Sorceror/Ioun Angel I keep thinking about. :)

Reign of Winter selections will take place tonight, was shot from 3 long days at work after a few sick days earlier in the week.

RECRUITMENT Re-OPENED FOR REIGN OF WINTER - CLOSED - Witches and Witch Named Classes ONLY

Submissions

Zeylud the Alchemist Ratfolk Veneficus Witch 1 - Jing the Bandit.

Satu Varis Changeling Bloodrager (Hag-Riven, Primalist) 1 - Hayato Ken.

Noxuria "Nox" Pembrook Witch(Tatterdemalion) 1 VMC Bard - RobL8675309.

Aerin Aurora Witchwolf Skinwalker Witchdoctor Shaman 1 - Doomed Hero.

I was going to take 2 but I like these 4 and I thought of a hook for the 4 that with 2 just won't make sense.

Dot into the Discussion thread Reign of Winter Discussion Thread.

When everyone gets there, I'll post the introduction for the new PCs.

Recruitment is OPEN once again for Bloodlines - A V20 Vampire the Dark Ages Campaign - Clan Brujah

You will start as Mortal.

All I need is a concept to start with. I'll give this a week to see who appears interested.

This is a LONG running game, 10,000 posts. However, prior knowledge of the Chronicle is not necessary or quite frankly even desirable as you should not know anything of what has already taken place anyway.
