How to magically make booze

Advice

Shadow Lodge

I need a way to make an endless amount of booze (or at least enough for 6 people (including 2 dwarves) to drink their fill)
There seem precious few ways to do that without actually expending spell slots

Silver Crusade

Maybe a Variant of this?Decanter of Endless Water

Shadow Lodge

Maybe, but how much would fhat cost?

Sovereign Court

It shouldn't change much in price.

Since from what I recall gods like Cayden Cailean have variant of create water but it's booze instead.

Shadow Lodge

After a quick check, yes he does
That variant also has lower volume 1 cup instead of two gallons
Sadly the player asking about this is going to be playing a swashbuckler, so unless there a way to get him an orison...

Sovereign Court

Well it depends on the race, humans and most of the core races can get fey magic alternate racial trait in a specific terrain, while it is only taken from the druid spell list, but create water is on the druid spell list, so making a variant booze of it (Satyrs and many other festive fey are fond of alcohol so not really a big stretch).

It's not infinite use per day...but well, it's a start.

Tengu Drinking Jug[Price 1,000 gp; Weight 2 lbs.]: "Once per day, the bearer can command water placed into the jug to transform into plum liquor, sake, or tea."

If you REALLY wanted to cheese out that fey magic trait, you would get the recharge innate magic spell.

The fey magic trait gives you three lvl 0 spells, and one lvl 1 spell, each usable 1/day as Spell like abilities.

Recharge innate magic lets you regain a use of all lvl 0 and lvl 1 SLAs. But isn't recharge innate magic itself an SLA? Does it recharge itself? Could you use it infinite? Yes, this is a bit cheesy. But it is within the apparent framework of the spell and trait (they were never meant to be used together, obviously, but eh, it wasn't made to stop you).

Balance wise... not a problem. The basic trade here is that you are trading a directly useful level 1 spell (which includes options like obscuring mist) in return for three cantrips/orisons. Cantrips that are really slow actually (since you need to recharge your magic before using them; this could be two standard actions).

So you might get read magic and detect magic, as well as your booze magic, and that is about it.

Oh, and do remember that this is terrain restricted. It might not matter depending on terrain (I mean... a skull and shackles campaign would not be bad, since you could just go water focused; thematic, since you will be able to keep yourself filled with ale and grog while at sea). But in most campaigns, it is not hard for the GM to shut this down if he gets annoyed.

Underground/Urban are good picks. Most games you're like to find buildings or basements/dungeons.

The Carouser's Retort can, once per day, turn 8 gallons of water into weak beer. And as a +1 rapier, it fits the Swashbuckler theme pretty well.

The Flask of Endless Sake has you covered. Assuming you like sake. But you could always reskin it so it makes other kinds of alcohol too.

A create water spell cast by [Cayden Cailean's] clerics or inquisitors can create simple ale or wine (1 cup per level), and create food and water spells cast by them can be used to make ale or wine rather than water (which spoils at the same rate the food does).

How timely. I had a similar question though I am looking to have a magical item crafted. It's a decanter for alcohol, but the difference is that it's not magically created, just a storage location for several types of alcohol. You can access any of the types when pouring it out. In this way it works as a handy haversack.

For fluffy, I was also going to have it perpetually cold as well. Probably some variant of endure elements. I have asked my GM to price it for me, but does anyone have any thoughts?

If you don't mind making a custom item, start with a Apprentice's Cheating Gloves 2,200 gp. Trade out the mage hand for Cayden Cailean's create water. That way you can make all the wine/ale you want and even heat/chill it, with prestidigitation, to your preference.

EDIT: if you only go with the create water, it looks like you can manage it for 1100gp.

The fun part about this is you can add some fun to it.

"Yeah, see that dwarf? He's got the magic touch. He can just make ale by picking up a stein."
"He's obviously a favorite of Cayden."

so.. no1 is going for the obviuos spell?

my shanty dragon mystery oracle used enhance water before boading near shore to get the crew of a rivel ship drunk so the other party members could sabotage it. (she had 4 days at sea getting there and just used all her reminig spells at end of the day to cast it on sea water and filled barrles with it.)
