What do we really know about the Adventurer's Guide?

Maybe it was never really meant to be in the Core line of books. Maybe Paizo just got the cover logo wrong again and the whole "experimenting with crossed product lines" thing they've been talking about is just a big old fashioned cover up.

I mean, how would we ever really know the truth? Is this yet another example of their long list of lies? Or is it just the idle ravings of one dork on the internet?

Just how long before print have they been touting it as being part of the main line, rather than the Campaign line? Is there any evidence anywhere at all exonerating them?

Spoiler:
Tongue in cheek

Erik said it was true (both that it was planned and experimental). Why would he bother lying?

This isn't a very entertaining farcical thread.

You can do better.

In the end it offered new content and changed content for old content they thought needed tweaking.

Frankly almost all of it ends up better in longer runs just less front loaded for dipping.

There's going to be people that call nerf. Those would be the ones that just wanted to dip. Most came out better.

People do so enjoy paying for errata.

Also, NOBODY likes being called a liar, even when tongue in cheek. So, you might want to edit that part.

Either way, pretty inconsiderate to post a trolling thread on the eve of their convention.

I don't mind at all.

As a clarification, I think reprinting material from scattered softbacks in a more visible book is a fine idea in and of itself. Making adjustments, if needed, great. The changed material ought to be posted in a convenient place as changes to the original sources and included in any future editions (not that some of those sources are likely to have them).

Obviously it isn't a huge issue these days with the srd sites and all, but I think it would be good form.

It is, as far as I can tell, a book. Or maybe a PDF.

This book is no different then ultimate equipment in that respect. Adding new material and combining older ones while providing an update for changed items.
