Wild shape form armor

Advice

Fairly new player here, had a couple questions. The first one was I'm going to be spending the vast majority of my time in wild shape form, because of this which is the very best armor I can wear (without spending a feat on it).

My second question was when I'm in wild shape form as a snake or a tree am I allowed to wear any wild enchanted armor? Is there anything in the core rulebook on this that I could read up on? Thanks.

Can anyone help me?

1. As a druid you are proficient in medium armor.
I think Dragonhide breastplate is the best. Before you get that use hide armor.
If you get heavy armor proficiency then get stone plate or dragonhide fullplate.
Rules for making barding for animals are here
So your hide armor barding for dire tiger form costs 60gp.

2. Yes, you can wear wild armor in what ever wildshape you take, it melds with your body. That is the whole point of the wild enchantment. You can even use wild enchanted shield while you slither around as a snake.

Armor with this special ability usually appears to be made from magically hardened animal pelt. The wearer of a suit of armor or a shield with this ability preserves his armor bonus (and any enhancement bonus) while in a wild shape. Armor and shields with this ability usually appear to be covered in leaf patterns. While the wearer is in a wild shape, the armor cannot be seen.

I prefer the Ice Armor Spell, along with a Collapsible Bathtub (and attendant water kept in your extra dimensional space of choice).

Set up the bathtub in the morning. Wildshape, hope in, and Ice Armor up. +6 Armor bonus!

Waaaay cheaper than wild armor

Does my AC need to be proficient to be able to wear Hide barding? Seems very affordable :) I have heard ppl mention mithril chain shirts because no proficiency is requires but it is incredibly expensive.

Your AC can wear any armor, just like your PC can. However, without proficiency it will take a penalty to it's attack rolls.

Ahh so that's why I need the mithril chain shirt in order to save a feat slot

Yeah, until you can afford Mithril chainshirt barding you can ask the party mage to zap your AC with Mage Armor. If he is unwilling to commit spell slots, buy him a Pearl of Power or Wand of Mage Armor.

Leather barding or masterwork studded leather barding are both ok (No ACP) for a while. I have even waited until size increase at level 4 or 7 to get the chain shirt and that has worked out fine.

I believe mithral kikko armor has no APC either.

Scarab Sages

Darkleaf Cloth leather lamellar is great. +4 armor bonus, +5 max dex bonus, 0 acp, and it's much cheaper than mithral. It's my light armor of choice.

Do you happen to have a link to the cost of it? sounds very appealing for my AC, thank you.

Scarab Sages

It's in the eastern armor section of ultimate combat, it also appears in ultimate equipment.
