Questions about PFS

Rules Questions

I'm going to try out a friend's PFS campaign in about a week, and while he gave me the info on it, my mother in law passed away on Monday and we had the funeral today, so my mind has been focused heavily away from gaming things.

So, my questions are these: Do PFS rules allow for the favored class bonus of +1 to HP or Skill points?

And:

Do the rules allow traits?

Thanks in advance.

Grand Lodge

1). Yup

2). Yup, but you wanna make sure the traits that you choose are legal on the Additional Resources page. Also I don't think you can take a drawback for an extra trait, though I may be wrong.

Check out the PFS Roleplaying Guild Guide for all the rules and info for PFS.

It's going to take me a couple of days to recover from the exhaustion this week has put me through, but I'll do that. Thanks.

I'd like find the form fillable pdf version of the latest character sheet but the latest I found is from 2015. I can, of course, print off the one from the PFS rules, but if there's an official version I'd love to use that one.

EDIT: I found version 2.6.1. I assume that's the most recent.

if you know PF rules, PFS is a simple format for an organized play setting. Many powerful or individually customizing options are off the table. For ease I'd suggest running pregenerated character(s) until 2nd level. Try out some classes. Have fun and relax.
Before your 4th game you'll have about 1650gp to create a second level character and that's a bit easier.

go and sign up for a PFS#! Then 'register' some characters on the My Pathfinder Society page, buttons are at the bottom of the page. click Register a new pathfinder society roleplaying character 10 times then do Register a new pathfinder core roleplaying character 2 times and Register a new card game character twice, that should set you up for awhile. Use a good name (DungeonmasterCal037, DungeonmasterCal038,... is lame!). You can edit the names until you get some play under that name then leave it alone. Have a good time.

There isn't an official sheet, really. You could use a piece of notebook paper as long as the information was legible. :)

Also, yes, FCB apply and 2 traits, no drawbacks.

Note: If your friend is running an AP, he can customize the rules, as those characters don't apply their rewards to themselves or participate outside of that individual campaign. I'm sure someone can explain it better.

Azothath and Blake's Tiger, thanks for the information! I don't know that he's going to get this game off the ground, to be honest. No one else in our group wants to play PFS, they prefer my homebrew system where we play with a lot of RAI and a few minor houserules as opposed to RAW. He texted me this morning and said if we can get 3 players together he'd run a Society game and no one wanted to. I feel bad for him, but that's the way the dice fall sometimes, I guess.

if he runs an AP in PFS 'Campaign mode' you can use whatever rules you want, and those who want to can apply the appropriate sections' chronicales to PFS characters. That might give everybody at least a bit of what they want.

I wasn't aware of that (I know next to nothing about PFS) but he's already indicated that he's going to run as close to RAW as he can, possibly wanting us to read and print out all the errata relevant from the CRB and books relating to our characters (I'm planning on playing a Bladebound Magus, being in an Elric state of mind lately... lol).
