Does a show spell or item exist that allows the perusal of distant libraries?
I know the mask of 1000 tomes could be reskinned to be such a thing, but is there anything else?
In the latter seasons of Angel (please forgive the reference) Giles had a book that could mimic any other in a particular library. Does anything like that exist?
Or a spell that that accomplishes something similar?

None that I know of. Perhaps you could take the Hermione route, and bring along a bag of holding with a couple thousand gold pieces in reference tomes? Or the Batman route, and have a permament hireling/cohort that you can long-distance contact for information?

Both those are good ideas. Portable hole that's lined with bookshelves and a comfy chair in the middle.

The psychic asylum spell would be handy - you just have to have consulted the text within 1 week/CL to remember it perfectly using that spell. Plausible Pseudonym had a scheme for using that spell to know just about everything.

I don't know how relevant it is, or what spells you use to access it, but the Akashic Record is literally a perfect memory of every event in existence. It implies there's a psychic spell to access it, maybe somebody better with the Occult classes could tell you.

Get a Cassisian Angel Improved Familiar and take it on frequent visits to libraries, booksellers, etc. between adventures.
Perfect Memory (Ex) Though they are not particularly intelligent, cassisians have perfect memories and remember everything they see or hear. They can faultlessly recite conversations they heard hundreds of years before. They also have the power to erase portions of their own memories, which they do (usually under orders from superior angels) to protect sensitive information.

Maybe I could connect to it psychically and use it as a mobile library. Interesting thought. Though the LG requirement to have it as a familiar is tedious.

Have you considered the spell Page Bound Epiphany? It's one of my favorites for when there's research to be done.
Also you really should look at the Studious Librarian Bard archetype from Inner Sea Intrigue. It's simply lovely for playing a researcher who can still help the party in dozens of ways. I'd link to it but it hasn't been added to the online reference sources yet, but it's a straight upgrade on the core bard.
I've been having great fun with Cup, my studious librarian bard and her traveling library of tomes. At later levels, I plan to pick up Page Bound Epiphany on her. In the meantime, I have a wand of Kreighton's Perusal in a spring-loaded wrist sheath and an Unseen Servant to bring me texts of Pathfinder Chronicles geared to specific knowledges so that I can quickly research subjects!
Hmm

Helm of Teleportation (so as to not drain your own spell slots) and sufficient knowledge of the best libraries your know about and ...
Pair of Ring Gates and a (permanent) Telepathic Bond (for communication) with a servant, cohort, hireling etc. and have them pass the needed tomes to you or have them place or move the other Ring Gate sufficiently close to allow you to reach through and grab or read the needed research materials.

Yeah, it's weird that you have to be Lawful Good to have this Neutral Good Familiar.
