I'm a tad embarrassed and frustrated by what I've been seeing from Obsidian in the Tablet game.
I was very forgiving and hopeful at first, but as someone who works in Software dev I'm professionally embarrassed by the fundamental errors I've seen creeping in.
Patches seem to be based off different software builds, errors that were fixed in one patch are back again after another. Core game system terms like display and reveal don't seem to be hard-coded in and the game confused the two as display.
I've lost numerous parties to saving errors/corruptions and I'm going to leave story mode alone for I'm guessing a very long time.
I've stopped adding bug reports to their support page as it seems to be a dog's breakfast over there.
As usual with computer/video games a lot of time and effort was made to make it look nice and add cool chrome. Seemingly Fundamentals were not a massive priority.
(I even looked if they had a job posted along The Senior PM and/or Release manager lines so I could back my words with some action, but no go. Nor could I afford to move to SoCal I daresay)

And you should probably report these issues on Obsidian's forum so they can better work on the situation. Sure, talking about it here might be a release of your frustration but since Paizo isn't involved in the actual development and support of the app, this might not be seen by their people.
After seeing egregious errors for which I myself would have been fired. I can't continue to throw more tidbits into this dog's breakfast.

I've also stopped playing
I levelled some quest characters up to level 30. They received a power feat, which meant they all had to tick off the last feat available on their character card. It's at level 31 they receive their role card...
I can't even begin to tell you how angry that made me.
So, I've moved on.

So I just bought some gold to see how that worked. Instead of just entering my iTunes password, it took me to a webpage to "confirm my payment method" (not something that happens with other apps).
When I returned to the PFACG app, it restarted and showed no extra gold. I tried it again and it said "already purchased, will be restored for free". It then hung for several minutes, I rebooted and still nothing.
Does it take a day or something to "process" payments? It's usually pretty straightforward to make purchases within apps. I don't remember having to leave to type my payment method in again.

Sound like google play or play Center Connection problem. Did you buy daily gold or normal?

Thanks for the link. They sorted it all out for me very efficiently. Cheers.

So, I find the obsidian site somewhat overwhelming.
Can anyone familiar with it tell me if its worth reporting the following (or if they already know about it)? And, if so, where I should go?
I had a party of two who completed all the currently available scenarios on the first two difficulty settings. I then ran another party of two through all the scenarios. When I try to create a party of four with those characters the game crashes no matter what scenario I try to play. Sometimes it lets me play a couple of explorations, then it just shuts down.
Is this kind of thing known and "to be fixed" or is it likely to be some issue at my end?

You should post this in the Obsidian technical support forum: http://forums.obsidian.net/forum/116-pathfinder-adventures-technical-suppor t-spoiler-warning/
You'll need to create a login here (it's free) first if you haven't done so already: obsidian account creation page.
Before posting you should read the Obsidian post about posting problems: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/86274-reporting-issues-useful-information- to-provide/
My guess is it is not a problem at your end.

After the latest update I'm getting way more crashes. I can't play here comes the flood at all now (and one party is stuck midway through setup so I can't even forfeit, but will probably have to delete and start over). Kind of disappointing. I'm not used to playing computer games at this stage of development. It's quite frustrating.

I agree with everyone saying they have stopped posting on their forums. Until you have posted a few times you can't even start a new thread, so you can only add to the already existing threads...even if they don't actually fit your issue. I've had to tack a few issues onto the end of threads just to get the information out there. Even then, the issues they are working on isn't getting new content out there in a timely manner.

The PACG app hasn't worked for me since November/December or something.
Since then I've been able to give obsidian money (that's worked flawlessly since day one) but I can't open any games nor start new ones.
I've seen several "updates" listed on the App Store, but my only option is "open". The most recent seems to have been a couple of days ago.
Is there anyway to tell your iPad to reload an app without losing all the data? Or do I just have to delete it and start again.

For Story mode, the party data is stored on the Obsidian servers. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app on your iPad won't lose anything. You can even play the same party across devices (I do on an Android tablet and on AmiDUos on my laptop).
I'm not so sure about Quest mode. I've never played that, myself.
I just returned to the game this weekend after staying away weeks due to the adventure 6 funkiness. It took several (ok, many) tries to successfully update the app, but then I was able to play it without issue.

i also took a break from the app for a few weeks due to all the bugs and stuff but the latest updates seem to address most of the ones that I was running into and having restarted playing again the past couple weeks, was finally able to complete story mode on legendary for all adventure decks (not looking forward to Legenday for S&S or even WotR if they plan to release those... hate getting the two combo where you are shorted 5 blessings and lose a blessing on failing a boon acquisition). Just grinding now to earn enough gold to unlock the alt characters.

Thanks very much. I'll uninstall it and see if I can get it to work (I didn't even know adventure 6 had come out yet).
This is hands down the worst app I've ever bought. The only reason I stick with it is Paizo. I wouldn't buy anything from Obsidian again, that's for sure. The fact things get fixed then break again on the next update is incredibly annoying.

Huh, you've either had extremely back luck with the app, or had extremely amazing luck with other apps, or not bought any other apps, because this is FAR from the worst app I've seen, and is actually the one I've paid the most for and I love it. It's been great for me and I've had a blast playing it. It's had its bugs here and there, but they've been pretty minor in my experience.

Steve Geddes |

I don't buy many, it's true. However this crashes all the time. I buy things which then don't show up until I email Obsidian and they add it back for me (or lodge a complaint through iTunes and they sort it out). I don't really care about bugs lik ethe app choosing the wrong dice or not letting you play cards occasionally. But when it goes black and drops out completely I've had several times where I just get "stuck" and can't even get in to abort the scenario.
Maybe it's unrealistic expectations, but once an app is charging me money (especially this amount of money) I expect it to work as described. I've never had to pay for what seems to me to be a "work in progress".

@Steve Geddes
Heya Steve! I'll see what I can do to help you get up and running! :)
First bit first, what model is your iPad? I can check to make sure it is meeting minimal specs. Tablets and phones that don't quite hit that tend to have problems running the app.
If you are insure which model of iPad you are running here are some steps that will help you identify it:
1. Go to "Settings" on your ipad. Unless you've changed your icon layout this is usually on the main screen. The icon should look like gears and cogs. Example here: http://media.idownloadblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/iOS-9-Settings-ic on-full-size.jpg
2. Once you've tapped the "Settings" icon you are brought to the settings page. On the panel on the left side of the screen swipe up or down until you get to the General section. Tap the General section.
3. The General section will display on the right side of the screen. Tap the "About" section.
4. This will open up the "About" section. Look for an entry called "Model" You'll see a series of numbers and letters preceding this. For example: MGL12LL/A
Let me know what your model number is.
It sounds like you've already tried to uninstall and reinstall the app. To uninstall the app Tap and hold the Pathfinder Icon until all the Icons on your screen start to shake. A little x button will appear to the top right off all the apps. Tap this x button on the Pathfinder Icon to uninstall the app.
After you do this power down your tablet (Hold down the power button and slide the power Icon on the screen to shut it down. The power your tablet back on.
Go to the App Store and reinstall the Pathfinder app.
In the meantime can I please get your PFID number so I can take a look at your account and see if you have some corrupted save data?

Steve Geddes |

Thanks very much David, I appreciate the post (especially on someone else's forum - I posted here as part vent/part cry for help on a forum I am used to using, I didn't expect this to be the best way to contact Obsidian directly).
With that in mind, would you prefer I email the obsidian support address that Aarik posted above with those details? Just to keep everything in one place?
I'll find those numbers when I get home tonight. (I'm in Australia).

Steve Geddes |

Just to follow up. David was very helpful and quick (even though it was ultimately disappointing).
The explanation is that my IPad is too old. It worked okay with the early adventures but now that there's more and more cards, it's reached breaking point. So at least I know not to keep trying.
I still find the software frustrating (even when it used to work), but I find Obsidian's responses to my frustration excellent. So I can't really ask for more than that.
Thanks, David (and Aarik earlier).
